Bits & Bobs

I was looking for another way to say "This and That" when "Bits and Bobs" popped into my brain.
ooooooh I like that, it sounds "fun"!
By definition it means "weird bits and pieces of paraphernalia, or an assortment of small items.
- that works -

I love my Bucket List Calendar...

we had a great July.
I used lot's of pretty colorful stickers to brighten up the calendar.
It came with great suggestions and a lot of stickers...
I am also using stickers that I have in my stash from my scrapbooking days.

I wanted to share a few pictures of our view of the river at night, it is so beautiful.
We own right to the river but we do not own a boat.
We did once upon a time ago, "Double Trouble" ,
but during that season of our life, we realized we are not boat people.
From this spot, we can watch the fireworks in Point Pleasant and many of the other surrounding towns.

I took these pictures of the Waning Gibbous Moon on August 9th,
it is also called the Sturgeon Moon.

It's been so hot here during the day,
that we have been going out during the evening when it is a little cooler out.
We made time for an ice cream night out at
Salty's Inlet Ice Cream

The hubs got this and we shared it, it was huge.
It's called the Norma K which is the name of a popular charter boat in Point Pleasant.
Soft vanilla ice cream, brownie pieces, hot fudge, colorful sprinkles, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

I released 3 butterflies yesterday, 2 girls and one boy.
They all took off quickly and I only captured a few pictures.

I am so glad I took the time to prune my Knockout Roses,
the second and third blooms are stunning and extremely healthy.

The same with my Hydrangeas,
they have had 2 more sets of beautiful blooms because I took the time to pruned them after their first show.

I cut back some of the Dill in my garden that had all-ready gone to seed.
I planted a bit of these seeds last week and they have already begun growing.
I will use it for cooking as we go into fall and will also need more dill to feed my caterpillars.
Dill is a hardy herb that we love, and the caterpillars do also.

We've had several trips to the Point Pleasant Inlet, always such a calm and peaceful spot...
and it is much cooler than in-land.

If you have followed my blog for any length of time...
you know this is where the hubs and I went on our first date.
We talked so much,
and we really got to know each other better,
I was already in love and on this night, he started to feel it too.
We were only 17.

How incredible that you met each other at 17 and knew that you were destined to be together. Fantastic series of photos. You are a great friend to the butterfly. I love boats but only to look at on the water. Now the ice cream! Yummo! Your part of the world looks incredible.

First I have to say that you are an amazing photographer. Every photo is gorgeous!! So nice that Point Pleasant is special to you and your hubby. I recognized the inlet immediately. Our cousins have a beautiful place at the inlet and we have been there many times over the years. So lovely.

That's some pretty interesting 'bits and bobs'! Love the night-time view across the harbour. And I've always been impressed with your monthly bucket lists.

What a nice post Debbie. I always liked that you fell in love when you were both 17. That was when I met my husband. Such great memories. We had a boat once. We found out pretty fast we weren't boat people either. Its just beautiful there. I didn't have any desire to see Wicked. I am glad you didn't like it. Now I know I won't ever need to see it.
