Tis' The Season

Life has been crazy busy, but in a good way!

I received my first Christmas card, that always enhances my Christmas spirit.
I adore snail mail.
It had a long, beautiful, hand written note in it and that made me feel very special.
Many thanks to the sender,
I know you read my blog every day and you are a very special friend to me.

We decorated the house, both inside and out over thanksgiving weekend...
that's when we always do it.

Here's a peek at the lights on the backyard deck.
This is my favorite part because I can see them from inside the house.
Our home has a lot of windows in the back, so I can see them from every room.

No lights in the front, but it still looks pretty!

I am still receiving Home Chef meals and I have been cooking a lot.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs with White Rice and Coleslaw
This was delicious!

Italian Sausage Pasta with Brussels Sprouts
Delicious too!

With my cast off I am able to knit again, I am still working on the same project...
I love the edges.

This is the Hitchhiker Scarf by Martina Behm
I am using yarn my niece bought for me in New Zealand

I have been working on making a few Christmas Ornaments, I will show you when I am done.
I will also do a post on the Christmas decorations in the house, everything looks pretty.

The tree is coming down today, I have such mixed feeling about it.
It is a beautiful tree and I will miss the shade and privacy it provided to us for all these years.
But for safety reasons, I am glad it is coming down!

Can't wait to see all the decorations. The lights are beautiful! I have to say I am blown away by your knitting. That is really pretty.

Sorry to hear you are losing a tree. Sometimes it is best to take them down before nature does it.

Many people here are removing trees from around their homes these days. Fiona scared everyone here too.

Your home looks so pretty, Debbie.

Really nice railing lights, and your front view is pretty too. LOVE the edge of your scarf. Yep, outside is safer without dodging falling trees. Linda in Kansas

I have 7 cards already, I am still working on getting mine out, I start with family and then go to friends, still have a few more family to get done. We use to always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving but it has been later every year. So far I just have our artificial tree up, no ornaments yet to see how Buttons will be, he has messed with it a few times, this weekend I plan on putting more stuff out, crossing my fingers he will be a good kitty. So nice to see the lights from inside and I like how you have decorated out front!
That is a cool edge on that scarf, something you don't see all the time.
Hope all went well with getting the tree down, I bet it really opened things up.

The house looks really nice! We also did the tree, decorations, and lights the weekend after Thanksgiving. Glad to hear you are able to knit again! I'm thinking that first card must have come from someone very special!
