Saturday Critters ~ 156 ~

This past week, during our visit to Hershey, Pa.
we visited the brand new
Butterfly Atrium at The Hershey Gardens
Hershey Gardens has always had a butterfly house,
but this brand new atrium is climate controlled and open year round.
Don't get too excited, although there were a lot of butterflies,
I did not get many good pictures.
Upon entry to the atrium, the hostess told us it was warm inside,
that we "may" want to remove our jackets - not that I was wearing one...
she said it was about 85 degrees inside, for the comfort of the butterflies.
Well one thing I can tell you straight up, is that I never want to be a butterfly.
The place felt like it was 120 degrees inside,
my camera completely fogged, as I crawled around
- dying -
constantly reminding myself of my love for butterflies.

This next Butterfly was in constant motion...

The Gift Shop was beautiful.
I picked up a "Butterfly Kisses" tee-shirt and a Christmas Tree soap dispenser,
because lets face it, we all need a Christmas Tree hand soap dispenser.

LOL! Sometimes you have to do what you have to do for the shots. Beautiful butterflies! I couldn't have stayed in there long, though. I'm not a tropical person.

Oh wow, I feel the same way about the climatron at our botanical garden, it is so lush and tropical in there but I always get to overheated in there, just too humid. You have totally captured some gorgeous shots that's for sure, I just am always amazed at their details, so cool!! I just love your last statement about we all need a Christmas tree dispenser, why of course we do, LOL! Have a wonderful weekend!

I beg to differ about your pictures. These are all fantastic. It can be frustrating when the butterfly is in constant motion and add to that a lens fogging up.I say you did great.

Gorgeous! I especially like the ones with the "eye" on their wings. I don't know if I'd be able to stay in there. My comfort temperature is about 60 degrees!

Lol - you had me prepared to not be excited - and I'm thinking, yeah, butterflies must be really hard to photograph. An then... you have some gorgeous photos! But I'm still thinking they must be hard to photograph, but you have the talent. Very nice!

Oh my gosh yes, I am so glad you got that soap dispenser ))). I love the butterflies, we visited a place like this in Sioux Falls SD and I remember how warm it was. You got some great pix... thanks for sticking out the humidity and sharing the beauty.

I think you took some spectacular photos and ones that I would use. Yes, I am sure you needed a Christmas soap hand dispenser. I would love to see a picture of the Tee-shirt. I love butterflies.
Blessings!
