A Christmas Carol

Count Basie Theater - December 2 - Front row - Loge seats
A Christmas Carol
The Christmas Season has begun

William "Count" Basie is one of histories greatest Jazz musicians.
Growing up Red Bank, just a few blocks from the theater,
this historic theater is named after him.

We had such a nice time and the show was so well done.
The costumes, the music, the acoustics - everything was spot on.

The theater was beautiful.
This chandelier hung from the center ceiling.
The clouds surrounding it were so realistic.

Right before show time, I was pretty excited.

They made the usual announcements,

no talking, turn off your cell phone, no flash photography,
so of course I started snapping with the opening curtain.
The announcement should have said "no photography - period"
as no photography was allowed.
- drat -
I like some pictures!
But I got one more photo than everyone else.
The show was awesome - and what a great way to kick off the Holiday Season!

What a treat!!! I would love to see that. Beautiful theater. I am a huge Charles Dickens fan. I think that would be a wonderful way to start the season too.
I am so glad you got some pictures!

I really like plays. I wish I could go more often. The last version I saw of A Christmas Carol was the TV version with Patrick Stewart. I usually see a different version of that movie every year.
