Yesterday, I woke to a butterfly...one of the chrysalis I have been nurturing since last fall, emerged today.
I had not given up hope,
I continued to keep it safe...but I thought it was unlikely it had survived the long winter and hot summer.
But she did, this is a...
I lifted her out of the cage, she posed for a few pictures then flew away with beauty and grace,
fluttering about before taking off for parts unknown.
It was not easy to say goodbye, she had been with me a long time.
But her wings were strong and she was ready to go and experience the world.
I have been painting with watercolors, I am pretty happy with the progress I have been making.

I would like to take a class, to see how other painters use this medium.
I am watching videos on Youtube to learn other peoples technique, that varies, and has been very helpful.
I have a few more done, I will share in a later post.
The plants are towering up and there are so many buds ready to burst open.
These are both Cosmos.
The yarn does have a lot of different colors woven through it...as whole, it looks purple.
The pattern is free and only requires you to know how to knit, purl, and slip one, wyif
(with the yarn in the front).
Easy...Peasy
Liz made the bag for me, I love it, it is my favorite bag and the perfect size for this smaller project.
I am not much of a reader but I read about how wonderful this book is.
It is a small book, in both size and length, 130 pages. The pages are thick and have a slightly torn/worn look to the edges.
I would like to read more so I thought this book would be the perfect place to start.
I started it and so far, I love it.
This may be my new favorite.
The sauce and noodles were a 10 out of 10, the meat was just a little "tough", but full of flavor.
All things considered, I really enjoyed this meal!
yet they also looked soft and fluffy!!
I prefer seeing the sunset because I am always awake for it, mornings are tough for me, I sleep too late.

Debbie, your watercolor flowers are lovely. It’s nice that the book you’re using has the instructional info on one side. The colors in your wildflower garden would be good subjects too. I am an early riser, like now, and enjoy reading blogs in the am.
Hello Debbie,
It must be wonderful to release a butterfly. The Swallowtail is beautiful. Your watercolors look lovely, you are doing great.
The Honey Cowl looks pretty. Your meal looks yummy.
Beautiful sky capture. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend!
Your watercolors are beautiful- must be very gratifying. Butterflies are magnificent looking creatures. My friend also nurtures chrysalis's and if I got this right, she told me that she had one or two turn into butterflies for 2023..
I have looked at those books to purchase and have been sitting on the fence about it. Now you made me think I need it.
I have the anne Morrow book it is lovely. I have given it as a gift many times.
Goodbye Swallow when we hiked a couple of weeks ago there were several of those butterflies flying around.

I can't believe it, I made stroganoff 2 days ago! Lol 😆 🤣, we had the leftovers for supper last night and it was even better. 😊 . Your butterfly is BEAUTIFUL!-- I like the females best. Your cosmos are pretty, I've never had luck growing those.
Wow! What a lovely thing to witness.
Your watercolors are beautiful.
I think the brush quality rules the paint and water mix. How well a brush can hold the color the way I want it to takes practice.
Happy Painting!
thanks so much, for your very kind words!!
I bet you were so happy to see the butterfly made it through after all, such a beauty! Your paintings are just beautiful. Sometimes Libraries will have classes or have a board telling of classes in the area, but honestly I think you are doing wonderful without them :)
Your wildflowers are so pretty, ours are all blooming too, I have brought a couple in to enjoy in the house. Love the color of your yarn. Nice you have found a meal you really like.
The sunset is gorgeous, I prefer them too, I do see sunrises more in the winter time it's usually the time I get up and around with hubby before he goes to work. In the summer it is coming up when I am getting his lunch around so I don't always see it.
Beautiful art and photos, Debbie. And your meal looks delicious 😋
