For my first drive around two area lakes, I was lucky to see and photograph
2 Great Blue Herons right from the car.
The first surrounded by dead grasses, clearly had fishing on its mind.
They stay in the middle of the lake, impossible to get a good picture of.
But they are here and I am happy to know that!
Next is the second Heron I saw...
it looked like it had rust colored "knickers" on.
I was thrilled to see 2 Herons,
while able to relax and take these photographs right from the car.

Hello Debbie,
I enjoy birdwatching from the car, it is like being in a bird blind.
Great captures of both GB Heron and the ducks.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
You got some great shots of the two of them.
You certainly must have a very long zoom lens, Debbie, to have been able to get such wonderful closeups of these herons.
Dang! I missed mentioning your blog when I talked about Saturday Critters last week! That heron certainly was cooperative with your photoshoot, you got some great shots!
Wow! Look at the detail on these photos! Fabulous, Debbie. I especially love the one with its mouth open -- that can be a hard scene to photograph.
Marvelous photos of the herons! They are such interesting birds
Wonderful shots of the herons, Debbie. They have left here it appears. That is early this year compared to last year.
You were able to take beautiful photos of the herons.
Thank you very much. It's a lot of fun to look at them.
A greeting comes to you from Viola
