Saturday Critters #572

When we go out for a drive, we often end up at Spring Lake, we really enjoy the area.
On this day,
we stopped to survey the ducks to see if there were any "out of the ordinary" ducks.
A huge group of Mallard Ducks came out of the water to greet us, I am sure they thought we had food.
I keep duck food in the car but many people frown upon feeding the ducks, so I usually don't.

After a few snaps,
these beautiful Mallards realized they were not getting fed and headed back into the lake.

This duck in the center...

and this one that would not come out of the water appear to be Hybrids.
- let me know what you think -

So beautiful! The drake mallard is one of my favorite birds. I do believe that last one is a hybrid.

Hello Debbie,
Beautiful captures of the Mallards. The male Mallard is handsome with his pretty green head. I do believe the last duck is a hybrid Mallard. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy new week. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

It is frowned upon to feed them here too, although there is one pond we go to in a town about an hour away that has a little feeder that you can put a quarter in and feed the ducks with the food.
I have no idea about the ducks, I never know if what I am seeing is a new breed I haven't seen or what.
