My good friend and knitting teacher,
recently wrote in her blog about a local wishing tree on the "bike path".
The "bike path" as it is known to the locals is what I know to be
55 miles, lots of branches, we often ride a small part of the path that ends at
Allaire State Park.
In all the times I have enjoyed parts of the path, I have never seen the wishing tree.
And not just that,
I know now that there are at least 2 of these trees,
both of which I pass in the car as well and have never noticed.
geeeeeez, that is so unlike me.
There with the tree, is a plastic bin with markers, tags, string and instructions.
Unfortunately, the box was empty, so we were not able to make a wish,
but we really enjoyed reading some of what other people were wishing for.
Some wishes were light hearted,
most were "tissues required".
I loved this one, what a kind wife!
This Little Library was there as well.
I love these, take one, leave one libraries, it's such a wonderful idea!

That's a great idea! I can see why the tags were gone.
Those little libraries are everywhere here now, and a fine idea it is. It is a great way to promote grassroots literacy.
Hello, I love the wish tree, what a neat idea. I like those free little libraries, this lighthouse one is cute. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Wow, some brought tears in my eyes, beautiful idea!

Love that wishing tree! Some are heartbreaking for sure. Then meeting Taylor Swift brings a smile. Life...
Isn't it interesting that a wishing tree could bring people together. We could use more of this is our world today. The little library is so cute and also a great idea.
That is amazing. Now, I have to ask, how did that become a Wishing Tree? That is so neat. Thanks for sharing.
Isn't that just a neat idea, that is funny you hadn't seen it before, that makes it even more special :) I would say some are quite the tear jerkers. WE have a few of those libraries around here too, someone had a really neat idea!
A great idea. And I hope that the dreams come true.
I guess I've heard of wishing trees, but had never seen one. What a nice idea. I am familiar with the little free libraries. Another good idea!
Interesting!
Some of those notes are very touching. This wishing tree is a great idea. A way to get your feelings out for some, and in some ways it can help others. Thanks for sharing this Debbie.
That wishing tree is amazing!! I love it, what a neat idea!! We have a wishing tree on one of our beaches here, but it's not quite like this and doesn't have tags and all. I loved reading the wishes. I wonder who stocks the markers and tags and how often they do it?
That's wonderful - and so unlike you not to notice! Hmmmm, I wonder what I would wish for. Some of them were very heart-wrenching.
Debbie - what a wonderful idea. I would prefer the word "pray", but it seems to me that the tree and its wishes become like a huge prayer line. Other people reading your wish think about it, and it becomes akin to a prayer! And certainly makes us grateful for all the blessings we have in our lives!
I'm so glad you got to go see it. I always get emotional when I stop there! Hopefully the bin will be refilled and you get to add a wish.
How wonderful. Some of those wishes made me tear up. Yet, some made me smile. I'm glad y'all were able to see the wishing tree. Maybe next time, you'll be able to make a wish too. :)
xoxo
That is the sweetest idea ever! I wish I had a washing tree )))! Would like to meet the kind person who wished for everyone else’s wish to come true!
I've not seen a wishing tree like that one … it's amazing.
Love the library …
All the best Jan
Yup! just reading these wishes and I can feel the tears start to come. Life is full of many struggles and I love how others pour out wishes for loved ones.
Blessings and hugs for this one!
