A Warm Welcome

I like to keep the front door area of my home clean, clear and welcoming.
I have not had much luck with potted plants/flowers by the front door in the past,
so this year I decided to skip that and instead I purchased,

this cute little frog to welcome my guests.

After cleaning things up,
here is the front walk, steps and the front door after I scrubbed it.
If you read my blog regularly,
you know that Momma Robin built a nest in the wreath right on my front door,
and hatched three beautiful babies.
They have since flown the coop,
and that my friends is why the door required scrubbing.
I also washed up the wreath and moved it from the front door
to the little area where you see it in the picture now!

The next part is almost unbelievable...

She came back??

and is building a new nest in the wreath.
As of today, it looks like she may be done.
I am speechless but extremely happy that I moved it off the front door.

Here is a close up of the Daylilies and the white Azaleas...
it had just finished raining.

When these Azalea's fade,

the Daylilies will be loaded with yellow flowers.

And did you happen to notice my new wind chimes?
Handmade, found at a craft show,
are they not the perfect addition for any home at The Jersey Shore?
And they have a bonus, YeP, they sound amazing, very soft and sea-shorie!

In a day or so, I hope to get outside and prepare a picture tour of the yard,
I am almost done planting and weeding.
I don't want to share any more peek's of the yard until I'm finished cleaning it up and weeding.

That does look lovely and welcoming. And how great that a robin thinks so as well.

Your entrance is very inviting and welcoming. I can see you coming to the door with a smile on your face. That is amazing that Mrs. Robin came back. She must be welcome too. :-)

Home of the Robin - yes, that is really something, Debbie. She sure likes your hospitality. :)

Everything looks so beautiful, and I can hardly believe the azaleas still growing this late.

Beautiful and serene. I love the Wind chime and would have bought it to hang on my porch, even though I am 4-500 miles from the ocean. I do love the ocean and have that theme in my own home.

Oh, this was a fun one! I love your front walkway and porch; it's all lovely. I think it is so awesome that Robin is coming back; that's amazing. The wind chime is a fun item to have. I must say that your new front door frog is the cutess. Your photos today were just fantastic and I can use them; if I could get some time to do a graphic. Blessings and hugs~

How beautiful! I love, love, love that Mama Robin returned :) And that windchime - very wonderful :) And that frog - my neighbor here is a frog collector - she'd love that! So you don't have a screen door, I see, and that's probably because ... it faces the street? Do you have a screen in the back?

Hi, Judy! I'm smiling at your comment because when I lived in the middle of the country - far from the ocean, too - my home was ocean-themed also :) and one day my neighbor was looking around and she said, "You love anything to do with the ocean - lighthouses, seafood ... what are you doing HERE?!" ;)

How lovely! Our phoebe has nested in the tree nearby, the woodpecker has flown. Phoebe was looking for another nesting site, as well. Meantime, my wood ducks appear not to have laid this year. I'm so sad!

jeannee, i have a double slider, a triple slider, 6 windows and a greenhouse in the back, all with screens but i don't have a regular back door. i have been thinking about a storm door in the front, it's funny you should mention it. the house is getting painted next week and i thought it would be a good time to do it. the hubs is not on board. plus, i want a yellow front door and he really not on board for that :(((((

i have a tab at the top of the page "the nest", it's a house tour of sorts!!!

He is a cute welcome to someone stopping by :) I love the rustic bird house, we had one like that years ago and the wood just rotted away after a few years. That is so cool that she decided to come back and make another nest, maybe you will have better luck getting a picture of this one :) I did notice the sea shell chimes and wondered if they made noise, I just love the beading done with it!
