Back Roads, Always...

so you never miss this!!

I got out yesterday, for a ride in the car.
You don't really appreciate "a ride in the car",
until you can't go.
The last thing I grabbed was my camera.
I wasn't going to bring it,
I haven't really felt like taking pictures.

And have you seen my camera bag?? It weighs more then I do.

But I grabbed it anyway, like I always do...
and just like that, things were starting to feel right again.

The hubs and I twirled through the lazy, country back roads,

and Chuck spotted these twin fawns.

He spun the car around and in a flash,
we were back...and there they were.

Eating,

posing,

not a care in the world!!

Seeing these little ones reminds me of what's important.
Nature and the simple things, the things money can't buy!!

Take the time to drive the back roads, it's so worth it!!

How delicate...and I LOVE the colors! We just can't beat what nature serves us! I so get that feeling of grabbing the camera and getting out there and everything feeling right again! There's just something that starts to breathe....that's been holding it's breath, waiting for us to put eye to lens!

Aw Debbie I'm so with you on the joy of a drive. Lovely Chuck to turn around and hunt out those beautiful little fawns.
I'm also blessed with a gorgeous man who never utters a word in protest -- just smiles, when I suddenly call out "gotta photo that...".
I can absolutely relate with you on this post Debbie, even to the point of forcing yourself to grab the camera before leaving. It's those times when the best photos are hunted out.
So very glad you felt up to the adventure of another back road :D)xx

Debbie, nice to know there is still wildlife left in NJ and as cute as these young ones were, I surely hope they are wise enough not to venture out in the state's highways. Always great to have a camera along for unexpected moments like this...great captures!

Deanna said...

Those baby deer must have known that you needed a little camera therapy. Wonderful captures...glad you were out and about!!

Loved the pictures! Many years a go we used to go deer hunting with my family. Then for a couple of years we didn't hunt; we just took pictures. I love nature and whenever we go up to see my son; the canyons are so beautiful and we often times see deer. Deer are such beautiful animals.
Blessings!

How sweet! I love this post! Especially the photo of the one "bawling" or "bleating" or whatever noise it is these babies make. :-) Where are you lately, dear friend? Have you been ill? I am so sorry if that has been the case. Hope you are much better, and that you will be in blogland again more often.
