I Save Seashells from the Seashore

If you follow my blog, you know I live right along the Jersey Shore.

I have never lived anywhere else and I adore the beach.

People who don't live here "go down to the shore"!

People who live here "go to the beach"!

There's a big difference.

I have collected sea glass and shells my entire life.

Let me show you how I display all of my seashore treasures,

on a designated shelf in my home!!

This large tray holds jars/glasses, each filled with shells and sea glass.

Each jar is from a special trip.

I always put a strip of paper in each glass,

with the place and date the shells and glass were found.

In between, are larger rocks, shells and pottery

that are beautiful and special as well!

This is my sea glass corner of the shelf.

This large glass jar holds all the sea glass I collected as a child.

This pretty dish displays all my favorite pieces of sea glass.

The Pleasant Pheasant

Do you remember the first visit from "our" gorgeous Male Pheasant?

It was March 11, 2013, a beautiful snowy day and I shared pictures here.

 

Well he's back...

 

and when I say he's back, he thinks he lives here.

I like this picture because you can see how thick and large

his legs and feet are.

 

 He arrives early in the day, 6 ish and sounds a bit like a rooster.

 

Looking pretty comfy here,

I was outside with him, about 20 feet away.

 

The hubs went out and got some corn for him,

they like corn you know.

He lays it right on that gray block ledge.

 

He gobbles it all up and the hubs puts out more.

 

All of these pictures were taken over the last few days of March,

 

he lets me get pretty close now.

Perhaps it's his way of saying thanks for the food.

 

Here he is strutting his stuff like he owns the place,

I think he is here to stay.

Did I mention we live in the suburbs?

 

I'm so sorry if I have not been by to visit,

I have been so tired from chasing my Pheasant,

I am trying to catch up.
