The calm before the winter storm...
Yesterday, we took a ride to Howe Street Beach.
We always enjoy the 10 minute drive, to see how the ocean is reacting to the upcoming storm.
The sky was a muted gray, the air was so cold I could barely handle the chill...
the ocean was calm the sand was free of footprints.
This tree was made completely of shells, with names and messages written on them,
this snowman...shells also.
There are markers and shells at the base of the tree, so you can leave your name or a message.

How cool is that?!?! Love the seashell trees and snowman. It is so hard to capture flying birds. Waterfowl are some of the most challenging for me. Sea gulls are at least a little more cooperative as they are a little slower. Love the detail in your pictures.
That is really cool, the beach Christmas decorations.
So pretty even while waiting for a storm. Interesting how the fences protect the dunes. Linda in Kansas
What lovely views, you live in such a gorgeous place, even with a pending storm it's truly a lovely peaceful feeling place. That Santa is adorable, at first, I really thought is that a little human child or something real? it's outstanding. Stay safe and all the best to you in the coming new year!
Hello Debbie,
Beautiful views of the ocean! Did you get the ice storm?
I like all the decorated shells, the Christmas tree and the Snowman are wonderful. Love the captures of the gulls in flight. I wish you all the best in 2026, a happy and healthy New Year for you and your family. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
It looks terribly cold! I love the tree decorated with the sea shells and the snowman. Beautiful photos of the beach and sky. Have a happy New Year.
