Celebrating Labor Day Weekend

This is a long one, consider yourself warned...but it is full of fun and colorful pictures!
Most of the time, I prefer a boardwalk that is not so commercial, one that is lightly scattered with
cute shops and seafood eateries.
But once or twice each summer, we go down to the boardwalk in Point Pleasant, on a Thursday night,
have a greasy sausage sandwich and stay for the fireworks.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant has fireworks every Thursday night during the summer.

I was never a fan of the boardwalk rides but I enjoy walking by to see all the colorful lights,
and especially to see the little ones having fun.
You may remember that we live about 10 minutes from Point Pleasant...
and can I just say, isn't that the cutest name for a town.

I took some pictures of the rides...

and the greasy sausage sandwich.
We split the sausage sandwich, the hubs puts sauce on his, I prefer it without.
It was so delicious!

There were french fries too and these were hot and especially awesome!

Next up...fireworks!

There may have been some ice cream after the fireworks,

another "Norma K", the hubs has a sweet tooth and a real love for ice cream...me, not as much!

Hello Debbie,
The rides are fun and colorful. This place reminds me of Ocean City, Md. The fireworks are lovely. The sandwich and ice cream both look yummy. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

We have a Mount Pleasant in western PEI. Without a mountain, I always wonder about the “mount” part.

The colours in your post are great. A great place for a stroll to take it all in.

I have great memories of the Point Pleasant boardwalk- we have cousins who have a townhouse on the corner of the boardwalk and the Inlet and your photos are the best- always!

Looks like it was a wonderful evening. I get sick on the rides, so I did not even really do it when I was young. I am a sucker for ice cream too!

Looks like great evening to me! Love all the bright lights pictures and the supper looks delicious. Is it a seasonal place or does it go all year? I love old fashion carousels, so pretty.

Not a lover of fireworks, but the broadwalk reminded me of Pontchatrain Beach in New Orleans when I was growing up. It was on the lake and had the rides, games, etc. It's gone now. I loved the Zephyr - roller coaster there then (wouldn't now). And DH is a big lover of ice-cream too! I like it, but mainly with hot fudge on top!
