Where Have All The Butterflies Gone??

Up until a few days ago, I had not seen one butterfly here,
or in my travels.
It could be that it has turned so warm and I have not been outdoors much.
But still, I take walks around the yard,
past summers I have always seen them floating around.
I have a big window in my home office and I often spot them while I'm "working".
The other day I was out in the yard looking for butterflies and spotted my first one.

A Painted Lady
I am 100% sure I have never seen this butterfly before.
My friend Theresa helped me to identify it.

Top, right...those spots and trim are blue.

And could this Purple Cone Flower be any more perfect?
If I were a butterfly, I'd hang out here too!

Very pretty. Sadly I don't see nearly as many butterflies as I did about 5-10 years ago.

Oh, what a stunning little butterfly! You know, now that you mention it, I've hardly seen any butterflies here. I remember summers when I would see them every day I went outside, but this year I can count on one hand when I've seen them. Hmm...

Thanks for the beautiful photos. Have a great day! Hugs!

I think some years are like that. This year I have seen way more swallowtails than I have ever seen before.
Your shots of that painted lady on the purple coneflower are amazing. Very pretty shots.

I have not seen many either but I don't usually around the house and it has been so hot I haven't taken any walks at our usual parks. I have not seen one like this, such beautiful coloring and perfect with your pretty flower, great shot!

They just love these flowers Debbie ...
Fantastic photo's.

Hope your week is going well, we have rather hot temperatures in many parts of the UK - time for plenty of summer salads I think!

All the best Jan

Gorgeous photos! She's a beauty! I often get butterflies in my tummy so maybe that's where they've all gone. ;-)

I've seen so few butterflies this year. I'm going out to the trail to try and find some now.

So lovely, Debbie. Glad you spotted him/her? I've mostly seen yellow ones here, and they just know when I run in to get my camera. :)

The Painted Lady is very pretty. I've seen some Yellow Swallowtails around here this summer but never long enough to get my camera and take a picture of one.
