Good Fences ~ Edition 123 ~

I found this unusual fence in the Mystic area of Connecticut
Although it looks like a chain, the chain links are constructed of wood.

"Wood Chain Fence"
"Designed Built and Erected by Albert Bonamo, Age 73"
1954

A look back,
I wondered about how long it took to construct this wood fence.
I wish that information had been included with the information on the sign.

Sharing today with my good friend

Wooden links... how interesting. They will never rust.

Really different and a great chain link fence made from wood! That must have taken years to construct and assemble and it has stood the test of time.
Have a great day, Debbie!

It's a perfect fence for that seafaring vibe. I'm sure it took quite some time to make.

I'd bet that there is a story about him and the fence somewhere on the internet. Maybe in the town's history. It certainly is very unique.

that is SO cool! my sweet uncle, who was a woodsmith, once carved an 8 foot section of chain-link out of one contiguous piece of wood - carving each link already linked in to the next piece, etc. it was amazing!

This is my kind of fence! I'm with you, I wonder how long he worked on it. I love your low point of view on the fence.
