Havens Homestead Museum

This museum is less than one mile from home, we pass it everyday,
and I have never visited.
Every time we drive by I tell the hubs that one day I would like to stop,
and photograph it.
He always says the same thing,
"do you want to do it now, do you want me to turn around??"
I always say "next time".

We stopped on Friday, it was a gorgeous day,
the sky was blue and the temperatures were near 60 degrees.

It wasn't open but the images I wanted did not require that.

Restored 1827 homestead of farmer and fish peddler
Josiah Curtis Havens,
the museum is maintained by the historical society in my home town.
The property contains many historic items from our area.

So so cool! I just love places like this! I always enjoy the tours - listening to the descriptions of things and learning about other times. Hope you get to visit when it's open some time - but these pics are great!

In fact, such a museum should not be open, because this is something to look at. Very interesting. Regards.

Very nice! I like the rust shots and the old farm implements. This reminds me of a place we have here.

That is so cool, we have come across ones like this in our travels, I love when the old stuff can be restored and generations can see how past ones have had to live. Isn't it funny how we don't stop to see the things so close to us, perhaps because we feel it will always be there. It looks like they do a wonderful job on keeping it maintained!
