Cool in the Pool

On Saturday my youngest son Mike and his girlfriend Alisa
came home for a day by the pool.
We had so much fun swimming (no one really swam)
and doing cannon balls!

There was some serious contemplation here,
"you know, I'm not as young as I use to be",
"do you think the board is still o.k., it's been a while you know"

But after much teasing encouragement,
he sprang off that diving board like a pro!!

Around here, it's all about the splash.
Mike scored a perfect 10!!

Look at that ripple in the water, perfection!!

Chuck was up next, he required a lot of cheering...

he had great form,

and an awesome splash!!

Mike and Alisa goofing off...

She's so sweet and a great sport!!

We played pool frisbee and ate till our bellies hurt.
There was one very long game of Uno that the hubs won.
He never wins,
I'm not sure what he was thinking, we always let Mike win.

I love when my boys come home, I love it with every fiber of my being.

What a fun, family day! Tell Chuck he gets a 10 from me. Last time I came off a diving board there was a serious [and painful] belly flop involved.

You have the greatest view of the river! Growing up we spent a ton of time at my grandparents river house. (My parents used to live there until they built their house.) We had a telescope and would spy on people across the river. We always spied on two boys and watched them grow up throughout the years. How funny would that be if they were your boys!

Brady was supposed to be sleeping the other night and came out to join me on the couch as I was watching the Olympics. I was wathcing the high dive. He said in disbelief "Mom they have cannon balls in the Olympics!?" I'm so glad you had a nice visit with your family.

It's been a while since I've done a cannonball myself! I doubt my form would be as good. Great way to spend the day!
