Here's my post for Rural Thursday!!

 

Every summer I start a vegetable garden.

I really enjoy starting with seeds, it's exhilarating and so much more rewarding.

In my past experiences, the gardens I started with seeds,

early in the Spring, have been much better producers.

 

Sometimes my garden is quite impressive for a girl who lives in the
burbs, other times, it's shameful.

 

This year, I will let you guys decide.

 

Welcome To My Garden

No laughing allowed!

 

July 31, 2012, two gorgeous, healthy tomato plants sitting on our deck.

With not one single tomato.

 

So that's the entire garden, it's all I really need.

I Don't Love To Cook and

when the garden produces, I have to cook.

 

On August 20th, we looked like this,

gorgeous right?!

 

and we finally have some Beefsteaks!!

It took weeks for them to turn red...

 

and here's the entire "crop"...NINE tomatoes!!

and this,

turned in to this...yummy BLT.

My tomatoes, all 9 of them, were delicious!

So that's what's happening in my rural neck of the woods.

Sunday...Funday!!

Do you say that??

I have referred to Sunday as Funday, for as long as I can remember!!

 

In my house, if it's Sunday, we are doing something special

and we are doing something fun!!

 

I've missed a few Funday's but this past Sunday was going to be different.

 

Our first stop was to see Iris and her baby. Look how big she is getting.

 

And there's a new kid in town, pure white and cute as a button.

John told me her name but I can't remember.

At this farm, they make the names very fancy, shamancy!!

 

Next we went to Apple Fest at Delicious Orchards,

an amazing outdoor apple festival!!

 

Now if you guys remember,

we've been to Delicious Orchards before and you all loved it.

 

Last stop, dinner, outside on the beach and it was awesome!!

 

Today was completely unplaned and random and I had an amazing day.
