In The Kitchen

I had a little time on my hands yesterday...
- actually I made some time -
and decided to spend the time in the kitchen baking bread.
I have made bread in the past and talked about it here on the blog, in posts you can view
herehere and here.
I found a new recipe on Pinterest for a "small" batch, no knead bread, with only 4 ingredients,
and decided to give it a try.

Of course I took step by step pictures.
It's not very exciting but I needed content for the blog...so here goes.

- the ingredient line-up -
- flour, salt, yeast, and warm water -

- wet ingredients meet dry ingredients -

- mix well until no flour can be seen, this creates a sticky dough that doubled in size after 3 hours -

- shaped into a ball -

- rested for an additional 30 minutes -

- into a preheated dutch oven lined with parchment paper -

- baked in a 450 degree oven, for a total of 40 minutes -

This was super easy and so delicious.
We cut into it while it was still warm, spread with extra butter, wow, it was so good.
If you are interested and you should be,
the recipe can be found here.

I always have fresh vegetables cut up in the refrigerator to snack on when need a small bite.
I replenished our supply...
this Marzetti Dill Veggie Dip is perfect for dipping veggies.
I always save the leafy tops of the celery for when I make soup, those leaves hold a ton of flavor.

The hubs went out to the garden and cut the last of the colorful hydrangeas.

It was such a productive day, I also cleaned the refrigerator and 2 large cabinets in the kitchen,
one holds all my baking supplies, the other my spices and boxed cooking staples.
I will sleep like a baby...this is my kind of day!
