People at the Jersey Shore go all out to welcome and celebrate holidays.
St. Patricks Day is a big one, a lot of people decorate their homes and businesses,
and our parade in Belmar is one of the biggest in the state.
This display, made entirely of shells, is at our favorite beach,
- Howe Street Beach -
A three leaf clover has been considered the unofficial flower of Ireland.
Irish legend says that St. Patrick used the shamrock as an educational symbol to explain
faith, hope and love!
The four leaf clover symbolizes good luck.
The pot of gold is the realization of all of one's hopes and dreams, fulfillment and happiness.
This tree, decorated with handmade ornaments, is right outside one of our favorite eateries.

I have never heard of a St. Patty's tree! There should be more occasions like that where trees are decorated!
People seem to go all-out on holidays now, much more than they used to. Enjoy your day.

Deadwood always has a big St. Patrick's Day celebration. We don't decorate. Usually, it is too cold for anyone to want to go out and decorate.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, Debbie! We had our corned beef and cabbage today. My sister-in-law and daughter-in-law are both Irish-American. :-)
I love they do different images with those shells, neat they decorate a tree too. We wore green to church yesterday but I would say only half of the people wore green :)
