I Am A Crafting Junkie!!!!

Just in case you have not noticed...
yes I know you've noticed...I am a crafting junkie.
I am inspired immensely by Pinterest, and my love for all things handmade.

I may have way too much time on my hands,
but that's another whole post,
for a whole nother day.

In addition to all my latest projects, I decided I wanted
to make homemade foot/body scrub.

So fun, so easy, this is something you may want to try.

Here's what you will need...this recipe can easily be doubled

1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon vitamin e oil
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
a splash of vanilla

These cute 4 oz ball jars...

these awesome labels I found here, free to print!!

It can only be mixed by hand,
therefore your hands will be slippery for days...

This was really easy and kinda' fun!

One batch, fills two of these,

you can attach these cute little spoons with some bakery twine
and it' makes the "perfect" small gift for someone special!

I am going to make another batch substituting peppermint oil
for the cinnamon and vanilla!!

It will be kinda' Christmassy!!

Felting Soap...

I had no idea really, never heard of it.
I assume all of you are saying the same thing,
what the heck is that??
As a "bonus" and unbeknownst to me,
part of my knitting class included some soap felting with Liz.

oohhhhh it was fun!!
And wonderful Liz, sent me home with some supplies,
and extra alpaca fiber.
In my favorite color, of course.

So the other day, I decided to felt some soap on my own.
The soap is homemade, it just wasn't made in my home,
and I do believe that is irrelevant.

 Ingredients - work station...
Homemade soap, dyed alpaca fiber, a small piece of nylon stocking
and hot water.

Wrap the fiber around the soap,

being sure to cover the entire bar.

Put that wrapped soap in to a nylon stocking,
dunk it in to hot water (I just used one of my large mixing bowls).
Roll your soap between your hands to build a lather.
Agitate the fibers, re-wetting when necessary.
 Continue working/rubbing the soap...

after about 10 minutes, it looks like this...

after about 20 minutes it looks like this.
Dry soap overnight.
The idea behind felting soap, is that your soap lasts longer,
the fiber acts like a luffa
and lets face it folks, it looks and smells, really good!!

It does take a while for the fiber to turn in to felt!!

Here's A Video on felting soap, in case anyone is interested!!

A Wonderful Weekend...

We had lots of fun on Sunday at
They were hosting "Our Day of Thanks"...
we have been to this Thanksgiving event before and it's lots of fun!!

 The Bakery

The kids were cooking up a traditional Thanksgiving dinner,

 it smelled really yummy!

After the park closes, the employees/volunteers gather together and enjoy
a Thanksgiving Feast.

  The Blacksmith Shop

 Wheelwright Shop

 One of the two barns...

that house and protect this stage coach.

This woman was singing old hymns, she had a beautiful voice.

And you know these two silly kids,
always posing for a selfie!
It was such a beautiful day, blue skies, sunshine, 62 degrees, gorgeous!!

The to-do-list was completed after the fun was had.
There was plenty more time for having fun, popping popcorn
and watching a movie.
Don't ask me what we watched, as I have previously confessed,
I don't watch movies any more,
I knit to them!
If the movie is good, I have trouble knitting because I want to watch.
Both movies, this weekend, were awesome to knit by!!

I hope everyone had a super fun weekend.
After today's 70's, it's suppose to get cold here at the shore,
with snow on Wednesday.
This weather week might just provide us a little
bit of everything!!

You Have Wings...

shouldn't you have flown south by now!!
I can see you are thinking about it...

but so far, you are still here...

I thought when the water in the bird bath froze,
you would make your way south.

But someone went out and "defrosted" it...
and so far, it's a no go for the Robins!!
Lots, still hanging around!

Yarn Alert!!

Last Saturday I visited the farm...oh right, you already knew that.
What I didn't tell you was how much yarn I brought home.
They had new yarn,
and I am a girl who just can't resist, new...yarn!

I can't,
I accept that and view it as a blessing,
for all the heads I will be keeping warm this winter.

This was my score on Saturday...

enough yummy yarn to keep me busy for a few weeks!!

Leanne helped me with the new pattern on this just finished blue hat
that I showed you yesterday!!
The gray yarn pictured is next up on the needles,
it's a really pretty one!!

What are you guys creating these days??

Good Fences ~ Edition 35 ~

This past Saturday, I squeezed in a visit to "my" farm.
It is "mine" you know...
I use to go just to photograph the Alpaca,
now I visit for the yarn as well.

My visits are difficult...
Buy Yarn, Alpaca Time, Yarn, Alpaca Pictures,
what's a girl to do??
This visit, I spent so much time in the coop selecting my new yarns,
I almost missed my special time with the Alpaca.
All three of my girlfriends were there,
LeanneAndee and Liz,
I even got in a little knitting time with Leanne.

Lucky for me, the hubs fell asleep in the car while he was waiting,
so I got to spend plenty of time with "my" Alpaca.

So this post is really suppose to be about the fences,
so try to be mindful of that and notice the fence.

I am sure he thought I had carrots!!

Sharing these necessary fences, that I wish weren't there,
