The Fish Were Biting!!

The inlet in Point Pleasant Beach is about a 10 minute drive from home.
Turning right out of our neighborhood, the winding road takes you right to the beach area.
It's a nice spot to park and watch the boats come and go...
and see the occasional fishermen reel in their catch of the day.

On Wednesday, the fish were biting like crazy...

This guy said they were Blue Fish, they were big and they looked like good fish...
yet, everyone was throwing them back.
One man told me they were not good enough to feed his dog.
I don't really know anything about fishing...
but the hook came out and back into the water they went.

I always enjoy seeing the boats.

Afterward, we went for ice cream...

Point Creamery
Homemade Premium Ice Cream, it tasted so good on this beautiful night!

Is it just me or is spring so much better this year?

What Do You See...

If you share a long glance with anything, it becomes so much more interesting.

How beautiful and vibrant are these cloths, hanging by the seashore.
They are regulars at this shop, always hanging there, probably just as often, they go unnoticed.
The plant pots are so pretty and unusual also.

These 2 beautiful Cherry Blossoms are at the house next door.
Each year, I cannot wait to see them bloom, they are spectacular.

These 2 are in my neighborhood, I am not sure what type of tree these are.

I released this handsome butterfly yesterday,
I have released a total of 10 so far.

We watched another good movie,
it was funny and a little silly but we loved it...

Yarn Along

 Washed and Blocked...

I am super happy with the way the
22 Little Clouds Shawlette finished up.
This Shawlette took me 3 months to knit and it could have been done so much quicker,
had I only been able to conquer the ruffle.
I knitted the base part in no time flat.

But oh that ruffle, I almost gave up and then I didn't...I am so glad I stuck with it.

Up next...

The Spring Thing

All of the details are here in my book -
I will use my grayish yarn as the trim.
The edges look a little funky, but that will be hidden by the trim yarn.
I'm not sure why the edges look so sloppy,
I am a pretty neat knitter.

I released another butterfly yesterday,
the hubs said I have 2 more that have emerged overnight that I will release later today!
I loved this image, the sun wash shining through the branches of the azalea bush,
creating such a pretty pattern.

Have an awesome day!

Pinterest

Have you ever wondered if you really "use" Pinterest?
I was thinking about just that and decided to peruse my pins and see what really stands out.

This is my go to...

I am sure I have made this 25 times, maybe more,
it's delicious.

These Short Ribs
you will honestly lick your plate,
providing no-one is watching!

I have made this
twice and both times we really enjoyed it!

We love Chicken and I have made this several times,

This
is really awesome...
I always make it with Cavatappi Pasta and I always add a little or a lot of heavy cream.

they're a funny thing.
I don't really have an exact recipe, I reference this one but...
I don't measure anything and they are not always the same.
I cook them in my sauce and I add ricotta cheese to the meat mixture.
And cooled, sautéed onions also, most times to the meat mixture.

I have made these Cucumber Dill Bites
When the garden starts to produce, these are a fun snack to make.

Yummy!

This Is The Only Way I Serve Fresh Vegetables
now when I have company.

I also learned about...

I made these a few times, they are super fun if you have kids.
I have "one"! I used Fritos!

And when it comes to potatoes, we are spud lovers, I have made,

and these...

This is just a peek into a small number of foods I have made from Pinterest.
There are so many more.
And craft and knitting projects also...so "yes" Pinterest is my jam!!

It Was A Lovely Weekend

We had a really nice weekend, quiet, restful and "easy"...
Looking back, we didn't really do anything special and yet I feel it was the perfect weekend.
Some rides in the car, and we stopped to photograph these pretty trees...

We made a stop to get a closer look at this Chevy...

I love Chevy trucks!

If you were to stop by a lake and not see any live ducks...
this one was lakeside to fill in that void.

And who remembers "Jeremiah was a BullfrogI loved this!

Around our beautiful Jersey Sore,
you can always count on seeing a pretty a decorative lighthouse.

Rounding back to home,
our tulips are starting to fade but the grass is definitely greener on this side of the fence!

We watched a great movie Saturday night based on a true story.
Instant Family
Don't miss it, it is one of the best movies I have seen in a long while.

Saturday Critters ~ 384 ~

If you have been following my blog for any length of time,
you know that for several years I have been raising butterflies.
Love is all you really need,
a couple of cages, the herb dill and a bit of patience.
Rather than go through the whole process, you can read about my experiences,
herehere and here.
The last link being my favorite when the kids next door helped me to release them.
I had 52 chrysalis at the end of the "butterfly season".
They over wintered in chrysalis form, in their cages,
I kept the cages in my garage.
In spring, they emerge as beautiful butterflies and the whole process is just fascinating.

Black Swallowtail #3 of 52

#4 was not interested in leaving home.

Finally, after giving her a few minutes,
I placed her on this beautiful tulip
she stayed for several minutes and then flew off!

The Joyful Butterfly has a great website about raising butterflies indoors,
if you are interested, you can check it out here.
