Yarn Along

I am still working on my Guernsey Wrap...

I have a feeling I will be saying that for a while but that's ok, it is a really fun knit.

I have moved on from Chart A, finally, and have advanced to Chart B.
If you are familiar with this pattern, you know that that is a huge milestone.
For Chart A you work rows 1 - 78 of the pattern twice
and then knit rows 1 - 58 of Chart A once more.
Chart B is only 24 rows and I am working on row 6.
That's a total of 220 rows completed.
I think I am about half way!

Delicious Orchard

This past Saturday we paid a visit to Delicious Orchard in Colts Neck.
It is, hands down, the most amazing market I have ever visited.
We thought twice about going...
it was a beautiful Saturday, mid-day, we thought the place would be packed.
Much to our surprise, it was empty, maybe everyone was at the beach.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures and play a bit of "Where's Waldo" if you like,
I think I found four other people.

Sweet Treats

Cookies

Donuts

Danish

Homemade Bread

Pie

Seafood and Prepared Foods

Fruit

Apples

Nuts

Apple Cider

Peppers

Veggies

Everything is so fresh, beautifully displayed and grown locally.
We got a lot of yummy things,
including fresh white Jersey Corn, it was so good.
I love this place.

Darby Smart

Do you remember my monthly subscription to
Darby Smart is a subscription in which once per month
you receive a craft kit, all supplies and directions are provided.
I cancelled it not because I didn't love it,
but because life became too busy and I had 4 kits sitting, that I was not able to get to.
This winter, when I have more time, I plan to resubscribe!
July 14th was a particularly hot day and I had a little time to kill,
so I pulled out one of the kits and enjoyed some crafty time.

This kit included 2 black canvases to make
Two Metallic Abstract Wall Pieces

The instructions are found on line...these are the suggested abstract patterns,

I choose a sun and the ocean for mine and this was super easy.

Here it is all finished up...
this is not really my thing, not something I would hang in my house, I don't think...
but it was a different medium and fun to learn.

I have one additional canvas, I am giving a little thought to what I want to do with this one.

Darby Smart, fun crafts, delivered right to your door, all supplies are included!

Sunflowers at Sunset...

I posted this picture on Facebook a few nights ago and it received rave reviews.

Only a few minutes after I photographed the sunflowers,
the sky appeared darker and the sun gently set.
It looks different every single night, but it always looks amazing!

Saturday Critters ~ 140 ~

I think New Jersey gets a bad rap...
I know I have shared that thought in the past, but I think people forget that we are
 "The Garden State".
We have farms, beaches and the best shorelines in the country.
And let's face it folks, we don't have to pump our own gas!
I live in Central New Jersey,
10 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the country.
On Thursday we took a ride through the back roads,
farm country, and I always pick one farm to stop and take pictures.
At this farm, the horses were beautiful.

I loved this "cheek to cheek" image...
and in this picture, you can see the beautiful blue eyes the painted horse has.

Patch!!!

During our weekend wedding get-a-way,
the hubs and I were able to sneak away for an hour of horse back riding fun

located on the grounds of The Mount Washington Resort
offers 1 hour rides in the beautiful setting of the White Mountains!
It was the first time riding for both of us and we loved it!

Here I am on Patch...

Patch was a bit fiesty...so I thought we were a good match!

It was a beautiful day,
bright sunshine and the temperatures were in the low 70's.
We had to leave the camera at the stable, so getting a lot of pictures was difficult.
The scenery on the ride was gorgeous, lots of mountains and beautiful streams.
The horses follow each other on a wooded path at a very slow pace,
which was perfect for us.
Chucks horse was a pretty spotted white, he does not remember his name.

This resort was beautiful and there were so many fun things to do.
I would love to go back...
when my "butt" can make that 7 hour trip again.
I'm not sure it will ever forgive me!!

Yarn Along

I have made a lot of progress on my Guernsey Wrap
and I am super happy with the way it is coming along.

The yarn is a Cashmere - Cotton Blend, very nice to work with.
Plymouth Yarn Company
the yarn is 10% Cashmere and 90% Cotton,
I love the color.

I am knitting this for a very special someone as a Christmas present.
I picked up my book while I was in the hospital and I have no idea what I read.
I don't think reading will ever be my thing!
Nor will being in the hospital, it's just awesome to be home!!

Mount Washington

We spent the weekend here...Mt. Washington in New Hampshire
the view of the mountains was spectacular!

Here's the hubs, selecting the perfect rock for the rock garden!!

The mountains were gorgeous, unreal looking!

And for those who are wondering, no climbs here.
My nephew, the outdoors man that he is, scheduled a group hike on Saturday morning.
3 miles, moderate conditions...
I figured, I might make it to the gathering/starting point...
then I would be looking for the finish line.
They all loved it, I went horseback riding instead, really, I did.
More on that soon, tomorrow I must share my latest knitting project!
