Vacation Souvenirs!!!

When we go away, I like to bring home little mementos from the trip.
Tickets, post cards, room keys, shells...a starfish,
small reminders to add to my memory jar for that year.

If you are interested in making a Memory Jar, I shared my idea here.

I save things like this...

One of the best souvenirs I found was this delicious
Balsamic Vinegar
Tasting was allowed in the store, this one is fragrant, sweet and very yummy.
It will be a perfect companion for my tomatoes, when they come in.

The best souvenir was found here...and will "not" fit in my memory jar,

Just Dug Potatoes
As soon as I saw that cute little farm stand I knew I had to have some.
I got the last bag of the day,
I was just in time as she was closing up shop.

So cute...

even cuter...

when we got home, I scrubbed them and boiled them,

gave them a rough smash,
added butter and parsley from my herb garden and that was a wrap.
Medium Strawberry Potatoes,
they where so fresh and delicious.
I served them with a cucumber that we needed to eat from our garden,
it had gotten huge while we were gone.

awwwww, yes, an odd combination, we weren't really hungry, it was more of a snack.

The hubs is a red head, this was suppose to be him.
Super cute right??

I bought one last item while we were away, that has to be put together and hung.
Any guesses??

Memory Jar sounds interesting...but I trash everything... I do not like clutter at all ...'if we can't use it we lose it' (Hubby is NOT like me as long as he keeps it in the garage he is okay:)....but a memory jar....hmmmm maybe?.....Potatoes look yummy...

An old favorite of ours is "new" potatoes with fresh English peas cooked together, thickened slightly. Oh, my, I can taste them now.

I am craving cucumbers like crazy now. I better get out to The Farm and get me some veggies.
I received the pattern today--looks a bit intimidating, but I will work through it. Thanks--BIG TIME!

I would have guessed you husband in that last shot. The red hair gave it away!!! I dread to think what else you bought. your house must be bulging atthe seams with all the souvenirs you bring home.

I love your humor and the cute smiling face that I think you meant it to be your hubby right? I really like the idea of a memory jar. I used to keep items like this but gave up but perhaps I will re-think it. I like the "Just Dug Pototoes". As a young girl I used to help dig the potatoes on our farm;very dirty work.
Love your food arrangements and fresh produce looks yummy. Hug for you dear friend! I am sorry you are in the hospital. You are in my prayers~
