On our way home Sunday night, after golf and after dinner...
we saw a beautiful herd of deer lit up in a field as the sun was starting to set.
If you know us, you know we eat early, like old people, like was pointed out in yesterday's post.
Getting back to the deer, they were so beautiful, showing off the reddish brown color they are now.
The light in the field was particularly bright, yet perfect, picture perfect.
After seeing the deer and a spin around was required to get pictures.
The bubs never minds, he's really good at it!
The long view pictures I took were all blurry, focusing on the weeds rather than the deer.
I took some pictures from inside the car, so as not to frighten them.
Some people walked by on a path and the deer did not budge, they did not even lift their heads.
I decided to get out of the car, and I walked toward the deer...
at that point I was only about 50 feet away from the deer.
They were interested in me, but did not run off.
I took way too many pictures when the hubs yelled from the car:
"you might have enough pictures, you think?"
- look how beautiful -

oh, what a beautiful baby deer!
They are pretty this time of year with their red fine-haired coats. I am sure their fawns were very close by hiding in the grass. I would not be surprised if they were out in the open with their mothers in the next week or two.
It looked like you could reach out and touch them. Great shots, Debbie.
Lovely photographs of the deer.
All the best Jan
Great pictures!
I think they're trained to stand and pose for folks. Really pretty! Linda in Kansas
Oh wow, aren't they gorgeous? Fabulous photos Debbie!!!
So delicate and graceful. Love their big eyes. Wonderful photos - they were posing just for you! x K
Debbie, great closeups and deer photos.
They are beautiful critters, I love their pretty eyes.
Have a happy day and a great weekend.
Great pics, Debbie! The deer sure look healthy!
Fantastic photos! It's nice you were able to get that close! No fawns around?
Oh wow that is great they let you get so close, we had some that let us get close like that at the Lake we go to.
I had to laugh because I think the same thing when Greg takes so many pictures but have never said it, LOL!
When leaving out friends house the other night just at dusk, a deer ran out from someone's yard right in front of us. Thankfully I had slowed down just before thinking they may be out and about.
Tell hubs, You can never have enough pictures of these gorgeous creatures. They were all just a delight to see.
Hello Debbie,
I really love your deer photos, it is nice they did not spook.
When I see them here they run away, they are shy critters.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post.
Take care, have a happy day and a great 4th of July.
