The Very Special Birdhouse

I have been talking a lot about this special birdhouse,
that the hubs bought me for my birthday, many years ago.
It was created by a Swedish artist Rolf Eric Holmquist
 crafted with all recycled materials...

It came with this card, describing the artist.
The card is numbered 38 of 250, the birdhouse is named
"Rent for a Song"

This information is printed on the back of the card.

You can visit his website and read more about the artist here.

Most of the rest of the yellow tulips opened up
and on Tuesday, before the storm, they were drenched in sunshine.

This tree belongs to the neighbor to our left.

They have 2 of these and they are stunning,
I think these are Kwanza Ornamental Cherry Trees, the flowers look like carnations!

Another day, in the books, where does the time go?
- hehehehe -

  1. You have a very nice springtime there ... the tulips, the cherry tree, the beautiful bird house ... everything is perfect!
… and I also like the frog in the background ... even if I'm not a frog fan!
    Enjoy your day! Hugs!

  2. Beautiful pictures, I absolutely love blooming cherry trees!

  3. Hello, I just love your pretty birdhouse. It is a wonderful present from your hubby! Your tulips and cherry trees are looking beautiful, love all the blooms. Take care, wishing you a happy day!

  4. It sure is pretty there, Debbie. We are still gray. At least the white is gone.

  5. Very cool backstory about the birdhouse! It's not just your typical house from the garden center at Lowe's. Beautiful flowers and blooms!

  6. That's awesome - birdhouse and artist story. Also, wow, such pretty trees and flowers!

  7. I think at the moment all we seem to have is time. LOVE your birdhouse and how gorgeous it looks sitting in that pretty bed of tulips.

  8. Thank you for sharing about the bird house, it is indeed unique. Spring has sprung at your house and it is lovely.

  9. That bird house is charming and the artist is talented. Glorious tulips.

  10. Love your birdhouse! We had a very special birdhouse made by a dear friend of DH's mother years ago. He made it for us to use here at this house when we moved in. That was 35 years ago. It was wood also... more a large feeder shaped like a house... but over time it eventually fell apart. And the builder has long passed. But it meant a lot to us. Enjoy your beautiful birdhouse!

  11. The birdhouse is indeed a work of art! I know you love having it! And your tulips really bloomed their little hearts out this year! WOW! They are beautiful! You win beautiful house and landscaping for blogland! Hugs!

  12. Your birdhouse is very special and it looks wonderful surrounded by those colourful tulips.

    All the best Jan

    Away From Blue

  16. That birdhouse is fabulous! Thanks for sharing. Your tulips are a sight for sore eyes as we still have so much snow. I long for pink cloud trees!

  17. Did he buy it in Jersey or down in North Carolina? That would be something if he is selling his stuff up there, unless he is very well known.
Your tulips just brighten up that whole area don't they!

  18. The Cherry Trees are beautiful. We have some trees blossoming right now in our neighborhood. We love to look at them. That is such a unique birdhouse and I love it. I enjoyed reading about the artist that made it. The Tulips are lovely. Another fun post that I enjoyed.
    Big hugs for you!
