Saturday Critters ~ 331 ~

On Tuesday, a juvenile harbor seal washed up on the beach in Manasquan.
You are still allowed to walk on the beaches in Manasquan,
so we decided to go for a ride and take a few pictures!

The ocean was so beautiful...

and the seal was still laying on the beach when we got there.
The area around him/her was all roped off, so people could not get too close.
This was Tuesday, the day after our big storm on Monday.

There were two people at the beach to monitor the seal,
to make sure it was not injured, and that no one got to close to it.
They said it was believed that the seal had come ashore,
just looking to rest, for some relief from the rough ocean waters.
They said if it did not return to the ocean on it's own, they were going to encourage it to do so.

It was just as sweet as could be!

Looking for sea glass...

and we saw this commercial fishing boat with it's riggers out!

There were a lot of surfers out, the water was still rough from the storm.

We both found a few pieces of sea glass, pretty treasures from the sea!

It is a wonderful feeling to escape the house for a few hours in these trying times. I love you photos.

We also have seals at the North Sea. They are so cute!
In the fourth photo from top to bottom ... you may think the seal is smiling! What a beautiful life!
What a pleasure to breathe the fresh air, right ?!

Love this post. There are seals around Prince Edward Island but we have never been lucky enough to see them. I hope the poor creature does ok but it sounds like people will look after it.

I never find sea glass though I always look for it. I just don’t know where or how to look. You usually find some on your beaches there. That was quite a swell on the water and it was after the storm!

Seems odd that the seal came on shore, hope it does go back on it's own and is okay. Nice pictures:)

I hope the seal headed back out into the water. I can't blame it for wanting a rest from that sea.

What a beautiful place to walk. I love the sea. It seems to take all your worries away. I hope the seal got safely back to the water.

You are so lucky. I have never found a piece of sea glass. I have to buy mine.

the jersey shore is loaded with sea glass, if you are not finding it, you are looking at the wrong time. be sure to go at low tide, beaches with jetty rocks tend to have more glass. and go on a sunny day, the sun hits and glass and makes it sparkle making it easier to find!!!

Oh the poor baby! I hope he gets back out Ok eventually....let us know! Nice to be able to walk on the beach. It would be OK here in Oregon also for those who lived right there. The beach towns are begging people not to come from inland though I don’t think they’re actually turning people away yet. But I wouldn’t go even if I felt like traveling right now, it isn’t fair to those who are lucky enough to live there. (We are around 60 miles from the nearest coastal point.)

But if I lived righ there like you do, id be out there in a minute! And Every day. It would be the best way to get exercise and de stress!

What lovely photos of your walk on the beach. I'm happy that you were allowed to do that. You did get some wonderful photos of the Seal on the beach. You are amazing at this as always.
