Saturday Critters ~ 329 ~

Fishing Boats & The Sea Gulls That Chase Them

The Commercial Fishing Boats were docked when we visited on March 24th,
this was the last "ride in the car" we took.
We have been "quarantined" together since March 8th.
There have been a lot of phone calls with others, but no other human contact,
and no meals out or takeout food.
These pictures are new, but I share pictures of the inlet area often!

The Dauntless and the Norma-K III are Chartered Party Fishing Boats

The seagulls hang out in this area, feasting on the scraps the fishing boats throw away.

It was a tad windy, but the fresh air felt so good.
I grew up in this area and I feel so lucky to still be here.

As for rides in the cars, I have been told by so many people they are not allowed.
That you are only allowed on the road if you are an essential worker,
going to the food store, for gas or to a pharmacy.
Part of the reasoning is -
if you get into an accident, you are tying up essential personal that are needed elsewhere.
If you get hurt, you will require a hospital bed that is needed for COVID19 patients.
If that happens, and you unknowingly have the virus, you could pass it on to essential personal.
During the governors news conference each day he says...
"stay off the roads, stay at home"...so we are doing it.
The blog is about to get very boring...

love these pictures of the boats and the birds!! Your photography is so good it makes me feel like I am right there with y'all, looking at the pretty scenes! I loved the post about the banners hanging from porches and houses too, that is a cool idea and I liked those people's bunny decorations up on the porch, big and pretty. The post before that i think was the one on hood ornaments....ya know, I hardly ever see ANY OF THOSE around anymore, I guess they were so popular in another era, but I like seeing them, they are fun to look at! Y'all saw SOME AMAZING ONES......AND SO MANY! So I sure enjoyed that. They are so rare to see, that when I do spot one, I do make a picture of it. Hope you have a real nice weekend Debbie, and NO YOUR BLOG CAN NEVER BE BORING!!---I will keep coming even if you do stay home ok.

The Seagulls are very beautiful but aggressive birds ... I have many Seagulls too In my area ... they come from the Rhine to look for food through the gardens!
Very nice photos! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy your weekend, Debbie!

I always like the boats! They remind me of the harbors on the Great Lakes of my native MI. Beautiful photos of the always posing gull! Our stay-at-home isn't quite as strict, but we've only gone to the grocery store once a week for the past three weeks. Working from home, too.

I always enjoy your photos of that area, Debbie.

It is the same here. We will resort to walking in the neighbourhood soon. Wish it was nice enough to sit outside but that is weeks away yet.

Take care!

What a difference between the catch fish boats and the tour boats! I never thought of those things you mentioned, thanks for sharing.

Oh wow, not even a car ride. Our parks are open and we have to drive to them, especially since they closed the trails near my home. We also have to drive to the food store. I do understand, they do not want accidents to happen. Awesome captures of the gull, I love the closeups. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, stay safe! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend.

Love your pics, Debbie... both the boats and the seagulls. I have a special fondness for seagulls and love to sketch them... especially on the wing. I really like that last one of the gull being ruffled by the wind! Stay home and stay safe!

I know you are like me and have lots of photos that you haven't had a chance to share....so I think we can do that. I love seeing the colorful boats. They look like something out of a movie, or a picture postcard. Take care of yourself my friend. Lots of hugs!

They are good garbage disposals :) They know a good place to hang out, don't they !!
I can see that with the chance that people can get into accidents, especially in your area, you have more cases. Our Home state of Michigan is getting hit hard and a lot of my family live in one of the hardest hit counties, makes me nervous for them, especially those that still have to get out and work.
I am sure you can get creative, get out and look around your yard, you never know :)

I loved all the boat photos and especially the Seagulls. We have Seagulls here in Utah at the Great Salt Lake. Sometimes, they come further inland.
At this point we don't have an order to stay home it is a firm directive. We can go for a ride, but now I see the wisdom in not doing it. We actually haven't been out hardly at all except for picking up prescriptions and one ride about a week ago.
We have our sweet granddaughter here and we try to keep her positive. She came here because Utah State University closed and she was coming back to work. We decided it was better she didn't work.
Anyway, praying for you dear friend to be safe and I'm happy you are obedient to your mandate.
Sending loving thoughts and hugs!
