The Cold Shoulder

Currently, I Am Not Speaking To You...

The fact that this is a Mature and an Immature Cormorant does not surprise me, a teen perhaps.

The young one never moved...

the mature one never flinched.

It was a standoff of sorts...

and no-one gave in.

This beautiful hybrid duck sat close by, the moderator perhaps, he never moved either.

  11. Great shots of the cormorants. What makes you think the duck is a hybrid? Looks like a Greater Scaup to me.

  14. So funny -- the pictures would be great by themselves, but your words made me laugh out loud -- yup, your guess at what's going on sounds exactly right to me. Just great. (It was nice that the family fight caused them to stand still long enough for some great photos... I wish that would happen to me more often with birds!)

  15. This is the most perfect and fun post, Debbie. I don't think you could have captured better photos if you tried. Your captions of these two cormorants are brilliant!

  16. Wow, amazing shots of these magnificent birds. Just have to wonder why they were so still. I love the photo of them facing away from each other.
    Blessings and hugs!
