What's Growing On -

- in the gardens, that is -

The Vegetable Garden

One Tomato - started with seeds.

Two Tomatoes - these were grown from tomato slices.

Three Tomatoes - these were started with seeds.

Cucumbers

Dill
I am growing a lot to attract caterpillars of the swallowtail butterflies.
If I do, I will also need a lot of dill to feed them.

The Hydrangeas are just starting to show some color...

The Daylilies have popped open.

This path/garden of Spireas leads to the backyard.

The Goldflame Spireas are also blooming.

This is blooming in the pot on the mailbox post.
I have never seen this color combination before and I really love it!

What's growing on in your garden?

The garden is pretty much my wife’s domain, but we have filled it with native species and the increase in wildlife has been exponential. If only an entire subdivision could restore more of the plants that have evolved over millennia to provide food and shelter for other organisms what a difference it would make.

Your garden is just beautiful, Debbie. I love the pretty pink Spireas that leads to the backyard...AND....your Hydrangeas really do make me smile. You have healthy veggies growing there. It won't be long till you be eating them off your plate. How the mailman must smile every time he delivers your mail.

how wonderful david, i have alway thought we should all use our entire lawns for vegetable gardens. we could all share, feed ourselves, feed others. i have heard of communities in florida that do this!!

Somebody has a green thumb. Oh, and when are the tomatoes gonna be ripe? I am hungry for a (what we call in the south) mater sandwich.

Sadly - not very much... We are way behind you - I'm really just glad we don't have snow anymore. My perennials are all popping up, and I think I have some spiky blue flowers (not sure what they are). I'm still waiting for the rest.

Now - your plants and flowers are a feast for the eyes! I love the hydrangeas, and your veggies look like they are doing very well!

Wow, I always love the photos of your patio garden. These tomato plants looks so healthy. I love how you grow the dill for use and to feed your future butterflies. You are amazing in doing this.
All of your flowers are so lovely and of course, some of the photo are perfect for my graphics.
Our front yard is doing well but the backyard not so good. We don't have a garden like I thought this year; life just got to busy for us. I love watching yours grow.
Blessings and hugs!

Your garden looks clean and colorful with many flowers:)
All pots are arranged in a order:)
Lets wait for the tomatoes to see whether there is any difference between the plant which grown from seed and from slices:)

Everything looks wonderful, Debbie, and it looks like they're doing great.
I think I mentioned that I was trying container gardening for the first time this year.
So far, so good, and I even have one very tiny brand new pepper! :-)
xo.
