Lots Of Changes...

There have been a lot of changes since my last visit to
Lake of the Lilies
All of the winter birds and ducks are gone and the Mute Swans have returned.

My bird book says this large waterbird is here year round, but I do not see them here in the winter.
People often mention that these birds are aggressive, but I have never found that to be the case.
Mute Swans are very common in the Northeast, even on ornamental and urban ponds.
Sexes are similar,
I believe this to be a male because of the large black basal knob on it's bill.
They are so fun to photograph, as they seem to pose for the camera.

I saw a lot of Red Winged Blackbirds

There were a lot of Laughing Gulls there as well.
I enjoy seeing this seagull, as they have a different look then many of the other seagulls!

I feel asleep at 7:30 last night, I was so exhausted.
Riding the bike, enjoying nature and breathing in all that fresh air.
Another problem is cooking dinner every night.
Normally if we are out, we just stop somewhere and get a bite to eat,
now, I have to come home and cook.
I enjoy cooking,
but right now I would just LOVE to eat something someone, anyone else has cooked.

If you can add a great beauty to something which is already beautiful, then you must be very beautiful like a white swan adding beauty to a misty lake!
Stay safe, Debbie!

Hello, Debbie

The swans are beautiful, love your birds and photos. I would love to take a walk on a beach somewhere right now. It is nice to have someone else do the cooking. Take care, enjoy your day!

Love the photos! I’ve never seen that gull.

My husband made the same comment the other day as we cooked dinner. We usually prepare meals together. It would be so nice to have someone else cook a meal. We miss our previous lives though we are making the most of it as it is.

I just absolutely love your photos. These pictures of the birds are spectacular. The Swan is beautiful. I love how you ride bikes and enjoy nature. We did go for long walk in the park yesterday with our Sammy. However, we need to go alone. He wants to sniff every bush and blade of grass.
Thanks for sharing you life moments. Blessings and hugs!

I think those Swans see you coming and they know to pose just right for you. I understand how you feel about getting to eat somewhere ,other than at home.

Debbie - we have two swans that are coming to our lake, but only at night. I am not sure where they are spending the rest of their time! They are gorgeous creatures!

My husband does all of the cooking, and he would say a loud AMEN to your last comment!

I agree, they do seem to pose don't they. Lovely series of photographs, and nice to see the red winged blackbirds too.

All the best Jan

I can't get over how big that swan is, it always amazes me how they can twist themselves around. Isn't it wonderful how all this works out that some birds go and others move in, they just do everything in sync. Isn't it amazing how tired you can get being out in the fresh air and being so active, I think it is from being more cooped up over the winter.
I do know what you mean, we use to always go out to eat when we were out and about taking pictures on Greg's days off. We broke down and went through the KFC drive thru this past Monday, our first time in 51 days of eating food out, we were out walking through a park and it was lunch time by the time we ended, it was so nice to go through pick something up and come home and eat.
