Locks Of Love

We have them here...how is it that I did not know!
I don't usually walk the boardwalk to view the inlet...we use the parking area.
But, at the end of the boardwalk, facing the inlet, on the chain link face, there they were,
- Locks of Love -

The next time we visit, we will bring a lock.

This was Friday, June 14th, the waves were huge and the water was filled with surfers.
The beach replenishment has been completed, and the beach itself is huge.
Now, it is too high and too far for me to walk...and I have heard from my friends,
that all of the sea glass has been buried.
My friend Melissa did not find one piece on a recent walk!

  3. More glass will wash ashore no doubt. Reason to go another time.

  4. Very pretty views but sad that the beach glass has been buried? I was surprised to see your photos of the love-locks. That trend is definitely catching on, though they had to remove them from the bridge in Paris as it was causing too much damage to that old historical bridge. Think your fence will be fine for a while, and it is such a neat idea.

  5. I do hope the sea glass may re-appear and you will be able to go searching again …
Nice to see the 'Locks of Love'.

    All the best Jan

  6. We saw them on the bridge in Paris beside Notre Dame where they were 3 or 4 locks deep, totally covering the bridge railings. Two sections that had fallen because they were so heavy had been replaced with plywood sheets.

  8. Beautiful inlet! It's a shame the sea glass has been covered, but I'll bet the new beach is really nice. Never heard of the lock idea...very cool!

  9. The beach looks pretty - maybe the waves will wash some of the sea glass up a little higher(?) - and don't you love that you're still discovering new things in your own backyard?!?!?

  10. I don't think I have ever seen a fence full of locks like that. Bummer you can't walk down there but maybe it is a good thing there is no sea glass down there, you would have been tempted to go down there :)
