Super Blood Wolf Moon...

I didn't really know what to expect...
A Super Blood Wolf Moon and a Total Lunar Eclipse...
happening at midnight, when the temperatures were in the single digits.
I always read about these events on Facebook, the moon never looks much different to me...
so...was it worth it to stay up until midnight and freeze in the cold - it was!

It was a real celestial treat!
We saw both the eclipse and the beautiful super blood moon.
I will add, a nap was required to stay up until midnight.

These pictures were taken at midnight, I did not enhance the color!

Afterward, around 2 a.m., the moon returned to normal, well, sort of.
It is still a supermoon,
which means that it will appear larger than usual due to it's proximity to earth.

I can usually get clearer pictures of the moon...

Wow...to view and take such fabulous photos of this celestial phenomenon is truly awesome. There is nothing quite like the magic that happens in the night sky.

You did an awesome job capturing it, Greg stayed out there but I came in after about 3 minuets of looking at it, just too cold for this girl :)

Amazing photos! What kind of camera did you use to capture these images? I'm in awe! I went out to see the Blood Moon, but it was hazy and nothing this bright or magnificant. Love seeing these!
