Egret Way - Part 1

Do you remember our road trip to see 
I wrote about that adventure here and here.
I wrote that it was so much more than just a trip to see Lucy because it was.
On the road in, we must have passed about 30 Egrets,
along what I later named "Egret Way".
A half mile stretch of highway where they were hanging out, fairly close to the road.








Back on August 21st, I thought the grasses were almost as beautiful as the Egrets, almost!

Great Egrets are handsome birds indeed. It is sobering to think that we almost caused their extinction by collecting feathers for ladies’ hats.

This are such beautfiul photos of these very unique birds. I have never seen an Egret before. This area amazing photos of them playing in the grass. I guess playing is the word.
