It is that time of year again, the time when the hubs plants all the spring flowering bulbs,
and then watches the squirrels dig them up.
He replants them when he sees them laying beside the hole, and it can become a little frustrating.
They are famous for hiding them in places,
not remembering where they hid them and we have rogue tulips in the middle of the lawn.
Spring is so exciting, filled with a lot of pop up, amazing surprises.
He also does it for all the neighbors and people who walk by the house.
He gets a lot of compliments when he is outside...
and he secretly loves it and the happiness these flowers bring to everyone.
He has been called the "tulip man" and also the "flower man"...
The neighbors love him!

How wonderful...spreading the joy to everyone that walks by! And I know you love all the pretty flowers. That really is ingenuous to use the auger! He's not only good looking...but smart too!
The Battle of the Bulbs. An epic battle that you have been fighting for years. Thankfully, you win more than the squirrels, resulting in a beautiful yard all spring and summer long.
We love him, too. 😊🤗
I imagine the squirrels love your husband too. They can be such pests. Your husband does a great job. Well done!
My tulip garden is smaller, but consider getting 1/2" hardware cloth (like chicken wire only smaller square holes, and placing it over the bulbs. I used those big garden mat staple-looking things to hold down the hardware cloth. Tulips came right up under the cloth too if I didn't remove it quick enough. Linda in Kansas
Hello,
Kudos to your hubby, we do all love seeing the beautiful blooms when they pop up. Those squirrels are little devils sometimes. Take care, have a great weekend.
That is so very sweet of him to do, for everyone ;)
Those little stinkers probably sit in wait for when he decides to plant them!
Your hubby's a gem! What an incredible gift for the neighborhood. Now if only the pesky squirrels would leave them be. I guess that's how those big oak trees get planted too when they forget where they buried those acorns.
Well done to your husband, a job very well done :)
All the best Jan
