Our Resident Osprey

We found this Osprey nest on July 10th while out on a little road trip in Spring Lake.

We went back on July 17th to check the nest again and I took the following pictures.
There were two on this day, one kept watch on a telephone pole...

the second was in the nest, perhaps watching over babies!

We went to see the fireworks in Ocean Grove on Saturday night,
I was so exhausted, but as we were driving home I was so glad we went.

The fireworks were so beautiful!

You got some great shots of the Osprey, Debbie. I am sure that fireworks scare the living daylights out of wild creatures, and seriously inhibit the ability of nocturnal creatures to feed.

That's awesome to have found a nest! Beautiful photos! I've only seen an osprey in the wild once. Hope you can go back and see the youngsters after they hatch. Great shots of the fireworks!

Great photos, of both the Osprey and the fireworks.

I loved seeing the Osprey's nest close up, so different to the meticulous weaving that goes on with tiny birds' nests but, no doubt, serving the purpose most admirably.
Glad you went that extra bit and were able to enjoy the fireworks... then home to rest with beautiful thoughts of a day well spent. I always love that feeling. Hugs

Beautiful photos of the Osprey birds. Love the photo of the nest. I enjoy the thought of how the bird parents watch over their nest. The fireworks looked great too. I do love your adventures.
