Why I Love Manasquan....

It's a Shore Town...with a Beach Vibe...
Everybody rides their bike, and wears flip-flops or is barefoot.
Almost everyone has a season badge for the beach
and has been on a surfboard at some point in their life.
Everyone is tan...

The local hardware store, which in "not" a big box store,
handed out these wooden surfboards, for the towns people to paint.
They are now displayed throughout town,
each one is marked and you vote for your favorite in the hardware store.

The front of the NJ Natives...

here's the back.
Carter, the boards creator included his picture on the front.
How clever is that!

We walked around the town of Manasquan while we were waiting for the theater to open
for our Beauty and the Beast Show.
I knew about the surfboards so I was on the lookout.
These were all so creative...I love where I live and can't imagine living anywhere else!

Did you have a favorite?? Let me know in the comments!!

But also the natives are nice to know.
You live in a beautiful place!

The hardware store should get a metal for such a cleaver idea. They are all so colorful but I think my favorite for creativity is the one where he (Carter) is included. The lemonade stand is cute too but I think under the sea has the best artwork. Thanks for sharing.

That would be hard to vote! All so creative. I've been to several cities that have done that painting mascot thing (cows somewhere in Kansas, horses in Louisville, big fish somewhere on the Texas coast .... and our own Eugene had big ducks at one time (Ducks are the mascot for the UO) and there are stlll a few of them around here and there, but I think your surfboards are the cleverest -- and give a lot more room for creativity!! (There's only so much you can do to a big statue of a duck!).

I love this post Debbie!!--so fun! They did a contest similar to this in Myrtle Beach years ago, and each business painted ponies! Carousel ponies, that is! ha ha ha LOL I love all the surfboard pictures---gosh I can't even pick a favorite, I love them all. I love the lemonade one, so unique, and the natives ones with pictures too! So when is the winner announced and can you tell us who won?? Where y'all off to this week---y'all go to some of the most interesting places!! And I'm so glad you make these pictures for us!

What a fun thing for the area to do. I loved looking at all of the creativity. Of course, the one photo with your husband in it is a favorite of course. I think the next best was the lemonade stand one. They are all so fun. Thanks for sharing these fun items of interest.
Blessings and hugs!

These are fun and so creative. I liked several of them but I found the Blue one with the shark quite humorous.
