Postcards from Paradise

Postcards are becoming obsolete, did you know that?
There are "apps" for the IPhone now.
They are actually quite handy but there is
just something about picking out a postcard,
in one of those trashy general "souvenir" stores that I like.

Whenever the hubs and I travel, we each purchase a postcard.
I write a note to him, he writes one to me.

Without peaking, while we are away, we mail them home.
A few days after we get home, the mailman delivers them.

We have usually forgotten about them, so it's always fun when they arrive.

We write about our memorable moments, special meals,
what we enjoyed most!

It's always so fun to see what the other person writes.

Our postcards arrived today, from our trip to Connecticut.
I had forgotten about them.
We have done this for years and I have saved every one.
It's a great way to remember your special trips!

that is why I love "postcrossing" a program where you can send postcards all over the world. so fun. they are very popular overseas. more than in the USA.

Romance at it's very Best.
(and from the viewpoint a former museum archivist: the treasures that these hold for future generations, yours or others, will bring lots of smiles down the road).

That is such a lovely tradition! You are right about postcards, although I always try to remember to send my mother one when we travel. She is a great lover of snail mail.
