Saturday Critters ~ 231 ~

The hubs bought me this beautiful bird house many years ago,
maybe it was for my birthday,
I don't remember.
Every Spring two Wrens nest in it and call it home.
They are fun to watch,
they both participate in building the nest and when the time comes, feeding the babies.
I can see this birdhouse from my office window
I know the day they claim it and start to build their nest.

They are tiny, and can be a little on the loud side...

their feather pattern is beautiful.

We have a pair in residence in our backyard too. The Gascoigne Hilton was suitably prepared for them before their arrival and they quickly moved in. They took the honeymoon suite without hesitation so I will eagerly look forward to it being converted to the maternity ward.

Hello, your birdhouse is very pretty. I love the cute Carolina Wrens! The House Wrens can be evil if they take over your birdhouses. They want all of them, a mean bird. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend.

That's a lovely colourful birdhouse. We had to take all of ours down this year except for one on my floating garden. At least it is busy and has a resident family already. - Margy

I agree, they can be on the noisy side, but I love to hear them around the house.

I know they can't appreciate the beauty of this little home but it's wonderful and if I were a wren I would want to claim it for my own! Great shots!

Oh how sweet those little wrens make their home each year in your pretty little bird house. How pretty are the painted flowers on the little house.

What a pretty bird house, and so sweet that you have wrens every year! I would really enjoy watching them from my office window!

That beautiful bird house is made even more beautiful by the wren living there. I agree, wrens are small but can be very loud.

How cute! Nothing like little wren butts! And, yes, they can be loud. Tiny but mighty!

Oh my gosh, those little critters can be so loud for sure. Had a couple nest in the birdhouse next to the deck last yr and Dakota and I enjoyed watching them. This yr they did not nest there and I wonder if its because Lily was watching too closley even from behind the screen of the deck. Beautiful pics and such a lovely birdhouse.

Those house wrens have the best real estate ever! Wrens all over the country are envious of them.
