Saturday Critters ~ 175 ~

Back in March,
I took the new Nikon out on a date to practice using it.
I purchased this camera primarily for the zoom capability,
for wildlife which was out of the reach of the Nikon I was using.
The camera has a little bit of a kick/some movement, when zoomed in this far...
but I am pleased with the clarity of the pictures.

These Shoveler Ducks were pretty far out, certainly out of the reach of my 300 mm lens.

Mute Swan

Canadian Goose

Male Mallard

There will be many more dates with Mr. Zoomy Nikon, as there is a learning curve for sure.
Theses images were taken at
Lake of the Lilies in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
A hot spot for ducks, geese, herons, egrets and all types of wildlife.

Really think your new Nikon did a great job... well you did a great job too. What sort of Nikon is it. Tamron makes a wonderful 150/600 mm lens that is great for birding too.

They came out well. I'm glad you are happy with the camera. As far as I know, I haven't seen shoveler ducks before, and I have seen them twice today.
