Grand Central Terminal

Whenever son #1 Scott travels into New York City, he always comes in via
Grand Central Terminal.
He often tells me that the building, both inside and out, is beautiful.
That I should visit one day, to take pictures.
When we went into the city on April 2nd, we decided to met Scott & Michelle at
Grand Central Terminal
so I could see the station and take pictures - he was right - it is beautiful!
The first railroad came in through Grand Central in 1831.

The first thing I do outside, is look up...

The clock to the left is on the Grand Central Terminal building,
to the right is the Chrysler building.

This Eagle, outside, atop the building and has been on display since 1900.

The area is packed with taxi's.

Inside, the architecture is amazing.
Do you see the young couple, center - bottom of the picture - dressed in white?
Engagement pictures, I assume.

The ceiling is decorated with a celestial theme, it did not photograph well because of the light.

The clock...everyone needs to be on time, right?

So...Grand Central Terminal gets a huge thumbs up.
I wanted to see the shops but the boys out numbered me and Michele is not much of a shopper.
Looks like we will have to go back...
and that means I will get one more lobster dinner at Keen's Steakhouse!!

My one business trip to NYC, and I didn't carry a camera.

I look forward to spending a visit (maybe this year) just to roam the streets, looking up and down and all around, it's an amazing place! And I want lots of roaming time in Central Park too! There's a ton of things there, and I'm sure I'll have to capture many movie shots since so many favorite movies of mine were filmed there! Enjoy it all!

Aw. Good memories. I used to zip through the terminal all the time decades ago when I was in college upstate, traveling to and fro. And what's sad... I don't think I snapped a single pic. Back then I didn't even own a camera!

How very beautiful, Debbie!

Seeing the taxi's take me back, and that's one reason I won't go back. LOL

That is one beautiful building! Very impressive! I wouldn't want to live in NYC, but I'd like to visit.

I know my wife has never gotten lobster at a restaurant. That's too expensive, along with the rest of most seafood

It was going into disrepair and they fixed it up and renewed it and it is a beautiful place.
Although I have never been to New York City, I have seen photos of how it looked originally, the photos of the restoration and now, as it looks today.

Those old big railway stations were really something! That one reminds me of Union Station in Toronto, though that one is smaller, architecture is very similar.

I'm sure it's grander, but it reminds me of Union Station in Toronto, both outside and inside.

I have always enjoyed visiting historic buildings. We have some fantastic ones here in Salt Lake. The most popular buildings are on Temple Square.
I really enjoyed all of the photos you took of the Grand Central Terminal. This building is remarkable. I often wonder how they built this amazing building in that era of time. The photo of the Eagle is spectacular too. Blessings and hugs~
