Beautiful...

We live less than one hour from New York City, yet we don't visit very often.
We always go into the city for Christmas...
the occasional Broadway Show or to meet #1 son Scott.
When #1 son Scott called to tell us he was moving to Huston, Texas,
it was the perfect time to meet he and girlfriend Michele
in the City for dinner and a Broadway Show.
I have wanted to see "Beautiful, The Carole King Musical" since it was released.
One thing or another kept us from getting ticket's,
but this visit would be the perfect time to see the show.

Beautiful,
tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom.
Her humble beginnings, being part of a hit writing song team with husband Gerry Goffin
to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.
The show was extraordinary...
I always loved her music and had not realized how many songs she wrote for other artists.
She didn't sing her songs until she wrote the songs for Tapestry.
My favorite album, she finally acknowledged she was the only one who could sing those songs.
And sing them she did, what an amazing talent she is.
Beautiful - the best show on Broadway by far!

Hello, sounds like a wonderful musical. I love her music too. I am sure you will miss your son, now you will have a new place to visit in Texas. Maybe you could visit with Theresa too. Listen to me, I'm planning trips for you! Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!

And, duh, wanted to tell you I was only in NYC once on business and saw Grease on off-Broadway. It was a joy, but honestly I can say I never wanted to go back again. It was the same with L.A.; business trip but didn't want
to go back there either. Guess I'm just a hometown girl.

New York is not a place I have ever visited but I would love to take on a musical there. I think it would be a totally awesome place to be out and about with a camera! Get some amazing shots I am sure. I usually see my son once a year. He lives in Calif. and I live in TN. They come here one year and I go there another. This is my yr to go but with my surgery and recovery (and bills) I will not be going this yr. Make it even better when I do see them again!

Carole King's Tapestry album is one of my favourites. What a treat to see the show in Broadway. This gal, down here at the bottom of the world is slightly pea green. =D One of my dreams is to visit New York and enjoy the odd show or two.

That album never disappoints and is timeless - such amazing talent.

Wow, now you will have to take an occasional trip to Texas. I'm sure it will be hard to have your son move so far away. I can relate to that since one of my daughters lives in Perth Australia. I love that you were able to go to the dinner and show with your son and his girlfiend. I'm sure these were lovely moments.
This broadway musical sounded like such a fun one. Happy you were able to see a show about Carol King. I think I might put my own bucket list to see New York and a broadway show sometime. Blessings and hugs!

That's tough, when they move away. My son moved from Toronto to Vancouver! It's a familiar story, isn't it?!

Lucky you, she's one of my favorites. I had no idea you were that close to New York, that's really cool.

My sister was a big fan of hers, she would play that album all the time so I grew up listening to her music.... bummer your son will be moving so far away, I guess that gives you an excuse to travel out to the southwest now :) Glad you were able to get up there to see him and to see a great musical you have been wanting to see, another bucket list checked off :)
