We're in D.C....

Washington, D.C. that is.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing and today was the Kite Festival.

If you look closely,
you can see hundreds of kites in the sky above the National Mall.

Master kite flyers, kids and families from all over filled the sky with fun, colorful kites.

And here we are holding up the Washington Monument...

No worries, we survived just fine...and look, someone's got to do it!!

Tomorrow, we will see what's left of the Cherry Blossoms,
they are way past prime viewing but from what I did see today, we are still in for a real treat!!

Great pictures! I grew up in DC and this is a wonderful time to visit! Although today is very, very windy and a whole lot colder than yesterday. Hope the blossoms survived!

Yay! I love DC! Crazy that the cherry blossoms are past prime already. I don't think I've seen an earlier spring.

You and Chuck are strong! :-) What a sight all those kites above you must have been. It was very windy here last night--the kites would have loved it!
