Let's Color...

Sometimes, when I visit my nieces, we color.  I find so often they lose interest before I do.
I have been seeing large adult coloring books everywhere,
but that seemed like a lot of time to invest into something that I couldn't really share
with or give to anyone.
One of my knitting buddies told me that they made smaller books,
in a postcard size.
I was really interested in that so I did a little research on google
and found a book that I liked at Amazon.
I placed my order and just like clockwork it's here and I am in love.

The book is called Pretty Flower Postcards and I am using colored pencils that I already had.

I am just getting started but I do find this to be both soothing and very relaxing.

These are postcards,
but could also be glued on to card stock and made into regular cards.

9 bucks for 25 postcards and another hobby that I really needed...
hehehe...if you follow my blog, you will know that is a joke!

I have found that 'coloring hour' is the best time for the elders around here. Adult coring book are so clever.

A friend of mine brought coloring books on our retreat. We all teased her about it -- and then spent a relaxing evening coloring and talking ....

I absolutely LOVE to color, and these new books that have been popping up everywhere since Christmas have given me "permission" to color again!! I truly find it SO relaxing (kind of like knitting!!). I am going to look for something like this (cards), because I would like to be able to make use of what I color.

Thank you for the info, Debbie!!

I really like the look of these.
Colouring can be very enjoyable and therapeutic.
We too have these books in the UK, at various prices, they are very popular.

All the best Jan

I like these very much. Even some of my 2nd grade students love to use the intricate, adult coloring books.

LOL! Yes, you needed another hobby. :)

I've been hearing more and more of adults coloring. May have to try that sometime when I get that *^)* website up for Hunter. LOL

You definitely do have a few hobbies! I love that about you though!! I gave my colored pencils away when we moved last summer ... maybe I should go get them back from my granddaughter and great-grandsons ;>)! I really love the idea of postcard size -- I'm all about reachable goals -- none of these long projects that take forever (I'm old, I might not have that much time!). You are tempting me!

What an awesome idea. Yes, I like coloring too. Which is why I hook, it is coloring with wool. I do though have my own coloring book with pencils.
Like you, one more hobby, I liked what you said. You make me laugh.
I do like the idea of coloring cards though.

Oh I think one can never have too many hobbies, Debbie. These postcards are great. Colouring in is always therapeutic. I suppose that is why these adult colouring books are the rage now.

.. Hello Debbie... I like your postcard colouring... it's a great idea.
I do colouring in also.. I love it.. I photocopy any pages I particularly like so I can re-do them in different colours... saves my books getting filled and me running out of things to colour...
I'm visiting from Stephanie's Roses of Inspiration....
I would like to follow your Blog.. xx
Have a great day.. Hugs Barb xxxx

Oh, this is just so awesome! I have heard that working on coloring books is relaxing and I think I will look into it. I like the idea of coloring postcards that you can use. Thanks for sharing this one and it looks like you are good at coloring within the lines. Sweet! Hugs for you~

OOOOhhhh, I didn't know these postcards existed! Now I'm going to be looking for some. This would solve my own problem with getting impatient with finishing a larger picture. And then, as you say, you can give it to someone or keep it.

These are adorable - and a doable size! My sister-in-law gave me a coloring book for Christmas, and I haven't even finished the opening title page! LOL Like you, I need another hobby!
