Comfort Food...

What I miss most about Winter, when it's gone, is comfort food.
Even though you can of course cook it in Summer,
I never do.
Note to self, cook more comfort food during the Summer because you and the hubs enjoy it.

Today, I am going to share just a few of my favorite comfort foods with you here.

You can find my favorite Chicken Noodle Soup recipe here.

My favorite Pot Roast recipe is here.
This is a recipe for Short Ribs but I use all the same ingredients for Pot Roast,
and I always buy a Chuck Roast.
After 8 hours, the meat just falls apart and this recipe makes the best gravy.

This is One Pan Roast Chicken and Potatoes from Cooks Country.
The recipe can be found here.

My favorite Spaghetti and Meatballs recipe can be found here.
I play with the meatball recipe a lot and lately I haven't been using a recipe at all.

I have been cooking a lot this winter and find I am inspired by Pinterest
and those darn cooking shows.

What about you guys, who's been cooking comfort food this Winter?

What lovely yummy food. I don't cook comfort food once it gets hot. Your food all looks amazing. It isn't warm just yet though, so I will continue to cook all of that wonderful comfort food. I think your food always looks better than mine though. ;)

Love me some pot roast! Any particular reason it's always a "Chuck" roast? ;-)

That pot roast especially looks delicious! Larry has been cooking more and he makes big pots of spaghetti and sauce, pinto beans, different meats. He does a good job!

Almost dinner time here, and not a thought in my head about what
it's going to be. Everything you cook looks delish! :)

Winter and comfort foods just go hand in hand ... but at times I still like to enjoy a salad.
Love these dishes Debbie, thanks for sharing.

All the best Jan

Love the Bunny picture~ Your comfort foods look so yummy. I am so happy you shared your recipes. I wil look at them all. I especially like to do the roasts. Carrots are one of my favorite vegetables. I love my own list of comfort foods for winter and of course, I have some summer favorites too.

You're making me hungry here, Debbie, and it only about 8:30 am.
I do a lot of soups during the winter. I love bread with butter, and a good hearty soup.

Surprisingly I didn't do a lot of comfort foods this winter, not really sure why, OK I admit I hate to cook, I do it for my hubby a way of showing him I love him, and he is thankful that I do it, which makes it that much easier. Since we started our new eating plan I have had to change things up a bit which has made it even more challenging but feels good that I am cooking healthier now anyway.

Your food photos are so great! Too good -- now I'm starving again, even though we just ate. I do cook comfort food in warm weather, because that is almost the only kind of weather we have. I enjoy the challenge of changing up my old recipes so that they're a little more healthful (just a little, I'm not fanatical) and also just changing them to feed two with leftovers instead of a small army. Comfort food recipes are always written for a family. Off to look at your recipes.
