Diners, Drive-in's and Dive's

Have you ever watched that television show on
Food Network?
The show comes on and I get hypnotized, seriously, in a daze...
I'm watching...but not really, and I can't change the channel.

One night I was watching and they featured
Marie's Italian Specialities in
Chatham, New Jersey
I watched them make their macaroni and cheese with bacon
and I knew that one day I would eat there,
positively...
without a doubt.

Well, I almost wet my pants when I found out that Marie's
was only one half hour from
Skylands Stadium, where the Ice Display was.
Now I really wanted to go to the Ice display,
but we are talking two hours from home.
I wasn't completely sold until I heard that restaurant was close by,
that fact sealed the deal.

* Items featured on the show were marked *

* Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon *
ooooh, yes please!

* This is Bruschetta *
Not on the menu but on the specials board,
our waitress recommended it!
The bread is there, you just can't see it.
So good!

* Brick Roasted Chicken *
We only got one entree and shared it, good thing,
it was huge and out of this world!!

It sure is a tiny spot, but they get the job done.

Marie's Italian Specialties...
if you are ever in Chatham, New Jersey,
stop in and tell them Debbie sent you!

Good morning, the food looks delicious. YUM! Guy Fieri has featured a few diners in Baltimore on his Diners, Drive-in's and Dive's. I have been to one called the Broadway Diner. Thanks for sharing Marie's, if I am ever in the neighborhood. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Ok, I live 20 minutes from Chatham, and I've never heard of this place! I think I'll have to check this out.

Those dishes look so good, especially the chicken!

Yumm! They came to Eugene (our Oregon summer home) and stopped at a few restaurants, 2 of them we already loved. Fun to think we 'knew them before they became famous'. That chicken really looks wonderful as does the bruchetta (I know what it is, but I can't spell it .)

I love small, unique places like that. They usually have the most extraordinary food!

How special to be able to check out a place you saw on the show, I do know what you mean about making a trip that far for one thing is kind of hard but when you can fit two things in it makes that much easier to do, it all looked great! Those little places sometimes have the best food, we find that out on a lot of our little trips :)

Nice post, Debbie! I've been away so long I almost forgot how to blog! We don't go out much anymore, and don't go far when we do get out. Also, been sick with colds and sinus infections. Hope you're still following!

We stopped at one of Guy's recommended diners in Nashville and it was epic. That one sounds even better, but it's too far away. :-(

I've always wanted to visit one of the places featured on DDD but so far I haven't. Lucky you. This one looks so cute and the food looked awesome.
