Winter has arrived in New Jersey, it is freezing cold, and everything is brown and bare.
The snow has melted, the lakes are frozen and the grass is dry and crisp beneath your feet.
We went for a drive Wednesday in the "four wheel drive sled"...
Ring-Billed Gull
Most of the residents of Lake of the Lilies have left because of the freezing temperatures and water.
All of the swans are gone.
I found 2 at Lake Como, I will share those pictures on another day.

Hello,
The birds do not seem to mind the cold icy water. Great shots of the gulls, ducks, geese and the coots. Take care, enjoy your day!
Any time we see birds a huge Bo us for sure. However, I shiver at the mere sight of the in the cold water. Great photos, Debbie. As always! I envy your lack of snow!
It is freezing here too. We may get snow today! And ice. ❄️
It's nice to get out when you can and see what nature holds. Looks like another winter blast is on the way! Hugs!
So beautiful.
Oh, those birdies look so cold. Yep, winter is here. Stay warm.
Hello Debbie, You captures some beauties here. Very sharp images of the Coots Ducks, and Ring-billed Gull.
That tree is just too cool. It is amazing how things can change isn't it and how the birds come and go. I love how they are all hanging out with each other on the only part that isn't frozen.
Love all your pics, but especially that first one. It's supposed to be in the 70's today and tomorrow and then drop down to the 20's on Saturday... ugh! I really don't do well in cold weather... find that all I want to do is curl up and keep warm... hibernate!
Beautiful shots, I hope that the birds don't suffer for this wave of cold.
Here the near towns on the hills are covered with snow.
Stay warm!
I love that big old fallen down tree.
Great photos, but the water looks cold. I love your quote at the end.
They definitely seek out the open water no matter how little there is. Love the bill on the shovelers, but have never seen one in person. Such cool ducks!
All lovely photographs, but I especially liked the tree.
All the best Jan
