Last Thursday when I visited
Lake Of The Lilies
the Mute Swans were back...lots of them.
They were playful with each other and also preening themselves, a lot.
The Mute Swan is a common, very large, unmistakable waterbird.
Sexes are similar.
Here in New Jersey, we see these swans year round.
This one had a broken wing...
What a day, as you may suspect, I had to start a new memory card for the camera,
it was that good!

Love their water antics, Debbie. Great photos! Must have been fun!
These swans are show offs. They put on an excellent show for you.
These are gorgeous pictures. I can believe that you would have filled up a card. I would have as well.
Great shots of a very elegant species.
You got some great photographs here Debbie … the swans are show-offs aren't they :)
All the best Jan
What a spectacular sight are your swans in all their gorgeousness. Swans gliding by in the water is always a most elegant sight!
Debbie - majestic birds, to say the least. The ones with open wings remind me of angels! I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.
Wow! I can imagine your excitement! They really played to your camera didn't they.
They're so graceful - even when having water fun.
Lovely...and majestic!
There is something about swans. I can't stop taking photos of them. They are so majestic. Your pictures are stellar. Thanks for sharing.
they spend 90 percent of their wakeful day preening. Tough staying that beautiful.
Wonderful photos! Not being their usual stoic selves. LOL!
Such beautiful photos of these magnificent birds. Blessings and hugs!
They are gorgeous aren't they!! Wow you caught a great splash time there :) I had to laugh with your memory card, Greg has been like that too until he bought a bigger size card that lasts him a lot longer now :)
