I have not finished my Gallatin Scarf
You may remember I am two stitches short, I should have 192, I have 190.
I started with 4 stitches and worked a constant increase from there.
I was shocked that after all that knitting, I was so close,
Normally,
I would just add two stitches but this is lace work and I'm not sure where it's best to add them.
I have to call someone, normally I would call Leanne but she is so busy.
Married, 3 boys, lives on a farm...
works full time & the kiddies are playing baseball right now.
Maybe I will call Paige, I purchased the pattern and yarn at Paige's shop
Frame & Fiber
In the meantime, I started another baby blanket, a girl blanket.
I will put this one away and save it for the next time
someone special has a baby.
This is the 4th blanket and I could almost knit this with my eyes closed.
It's so nice to be able to knit something with comfort
and not have to read the pattern.
That's my update for the week,
hopefully I will finish the scarf this week and be able to share the final result next week.

Yes, ring Paige, she will be able to help you. Your Gallatin Scarf is beautiful....it will be finished soon. Love those baby blankets of yours. They dance with gorgeous design and colour. It is wonderful knitting something that is second nature, isn't it.

I love the scarf and the baby blanket is pretty, too. I wish I could knit, but my hands hurt if I stay at it too long, which causes me to leave unfinished projects in bags in my closet!.
Isn't it so much nicer than when you know the pattern. I think its just lovely. You are such a great knitter Debbie.

I share your frustration this week, as I had to rip out all 79 rows of the shawl I had started to knit. Twice.
I thought I knew where I went wrong, but now after ripping out the second time, I am not so sure.
I am going to go back to it after I have given it a rest, and studied the pattern more carefully. We'll see....

Lots of different ways to add the stitches, but here's one idea:
From the top photo it looks like you are working a stocking net stitch section. You can make the two stitches (each separately a few inches apart or more) somewhere in the middle on a knit row and you should be ok. If you are not familiar with M1 (make one), there are lots of help videos out there. Good luck. The scarf is so pretty and I look forward to seeing the finished product.
I will look forward to your finished Scarf; do model it! The baby blankets you have done are lovely. I enjoy knitting when I don't have to read a pattern. In fact, I really don't know how to read a pattern; I just need to have someone show me how.
Your projects are so well done. I think you have become a professional knitter.

ooooh lisa, what to say, i do feel your pain. my knitting teacher always encourages me to keep going, always. i think she feels that once the project is done, the mistake is not at noticeable as you might think it will be. i do find, as i am sure you do, that the more i knit a pattern, the more i understand it and pick up the rhythm and repeats. i wish we could sit together and knit, i wish i could introduce you to my "peeps", my peeps are amazing and very helpful. you should plan a trip to the rhinebeck sheep and wool festival this year, we could meet up on the hill and spend a little time together. it's in new york!!!
knitting something the second time is always easier...that's why i have knitted 45 hats. would you like a hat?? hehehehehe
thanks joan....i know how to M1, i've just never done that with lace work. where i am working now, the center part is stocking net, and the ends or long tails are still lace. i don't want to mess up the lace pattern by putting the M1's in the wrong place. what you suggested is what i think i should do and probably will do if i do not hear back from paige who is also a very buys girl. i did put in an s.o.s. call to her!!!
I remember when you were having trouble with the first blanket and ready to give up and here you are on your fourth!
Good luck finding someone to help with your scarf. That is always good to be prepared when the need arises for another blanket, I am never that organized. It sure is nice to be able to craft something and not constantly have to look at a pattern.
