Saturday Critters ~ 232 ~

A Backroad: a small country road, often unused with very little traffic.
Tree lined streets, barns, farms, dirt paths,
white picket fences, clean air and plenty of animals & wildlife.
We found these cows and sweet little calves back in April, on a ride in the country.

- sweet kisses -

The moral of the story...
travel the back roads...I always find it to be so much more rewarding!

I love taking the back roads and have figured out ways to do that on most of my driving excursions.

Hello cows! I used to always moo at cows but now that I'm older, I say hello when I pass them. And I say hello to horses too, even though my windows are rolled up and they can't hear me. It's just fun to see animals!

We take the back-roads as often as we can!! So much better to stay off the dopey freeways where everything is the same as everywhere else. All that being said however, I am not sure I've ever come across such a wonderful photo op as you two did! This is a lovely series!!

There is always a level of delicious anticipation when off the beaten track. These days with a GPS it is easy too, because you can’t get lost, I keep thinking about becoming a vegetarian but I never quite get there completely. It is sad somehow that those beautiful calves will in all likelihood never reach the age of two before we take them to the slaughterhouse.

I agree that traveling the back roads is the best. I especially love doing that when we go down to central southern Utah where I was born. I love the little towns and the history of them all.
I do love cows because it is a big part of my younger years. I'm a cowgirl at heart.
Sending loving thoughts your way!
